Richard Vogel now second in the world rankings
World show jumping rankings – Vogel on the advance
Richard Vogel knows exactly who he has to thank for his unstoppable rise to the top of the world rankings ... Photo: sportfotos-lafrentz.de The last time a German show jumper topped the world rankings was in 2021, when Daniel Deußer did so. Now Richard Vogel is well on his way to becoming the next German number one. World Cup winner Kent Farrington is still ranked ahead of him in the updated world rankings in June 2026. But European Champion and Aachen winner Vogel was able to push past Scott Brash. He is now in second place.
Farrington and Vogel are separated by 195 points. However, the gap between Vogel and Brash is much narrower. Here it is just six points.
The other top ten riders
Behind the top trio of Farrington, Vogel and Brash, both Ben Maher (GBR) and Gilles Thomas (BEL) were able to defend their fourth and fifth places respectively. Ireland’s Shane Sweetnam made up one place and is now sixth. He has swapped places with Nina Mallevaey (FRA), who is still the best rider in the rankings in seventh place.
Christian Kukuk was able to maintain his eighth place. The top ten is completed by Laura Kraut (USA) and Steve Guerdat (SUI). Kraut is new to the top ten, she was eleventh. Guerdat dropped one place.
