After the new top management of the Austrian Equestrian Sports Association OEPS lifted the provisional ban on show jumper Alessandra Reich, a court in Germany has ruled on the matter.

Background: The OEPS, under the former leadership, decided at the end of April to provisionally ban the show jumping rider until the federation’s arbitration tribunal has decided on the case, in view of the video footage of Alessandra Reich using the crop.

At the time, the German FN declared its intention to follow the decision. This meant that the Austrian, who lives in Salgen in Bavaria, has not been allowed to compete in tournaments in Germany since then.

When the OEPS now withdrew the provisional ban because it did not consider the conditions to be met, there was no public reaction from the FN.

Today, the Austrian website Pferderevue.at reports that the Regional Court of Dortmund has lifted the ban imposed by the FN. The corresponding ruling means that the championship rider can now take part in national and international competitions again.

The FN has not yet issued a statement on this.
