At the halfway point of the 2026 FEI Nations Cup Series in eventing, France celebrated a commanding victory in Strzegom (POL). Host nation Poland secured second place in front of its home crowd, while Austria rounded out the podium in third place.

France and Austria were the first nations to compete in Strzegom for the second time this season, earning important qualifying points early on for the FEI Eventing Nations Cup Final in October in Boekelo (NED).

With its third-ever victory in Strzegom, the French team—consisting of Arthur Duffort riding Gueule de Reve, Verane Nicaud riding Eau Vive de Brenne AA, Baptiste Salaun on Hexcazel Duverie, and Lucas Brun on Happy de Brion—secured a comfortable lead at the top of the standings. France has now won a total of 20 FEI Eventing Nations Cup™ competitions and ranks third on the all-time list behind Germany (40) and Great Britain (23). After three of five qualifying tournaments, France leads the overall standings.

Team managers are satisfied

“We traveled to Strzegom with a clear goal, and I’m proud of how our athletes executed the plan in all three phases of the competition,” said team manager Cédric Lyard. “Strzegom remains one of the most challenging and best-organized tournaments on the international calendar—which makes this victory even more meaningful.”

The Polish team, featuring individual winner Katarzyna Brandys on Sel Oscar, Pawel Warszawski on Cagliostro PKZ, and Mariusz Klemiuk on Monaco, took second place, securing their sixth podium finish at the Eventing Nations Cup in Strzegom—more than at any other venue. “In a World Championship year, two strong individual results and Katarzyna’s class victory are very positive for us,” emphasized team manager Gary Parsonage.

The bronze medal went to Austria: Harald Ambros with Vitorio du Montet—who also placed second in the individual competition—Daniel Dunst with Chevalier 97, and Magdalena Zellhofer on Highlight RZ thus achieved their best result in Strzegom since 2022 and stood on the podium for the first time this season. “The level of competition was exceptionally high, which makes these results even more valuable,” said team manager Thomas Tesch.

Important Event in Avenches

The series continues July 16–19 in Avenches (SUI). This is the fourth stage. For Germany—which, incidentally, did not field a team in Strzegom—it is particularly important because it is the final selection event on the road to the World Championships in Aachen. The World Championships team will be named after Avenches. You can find the long list of potential candidates here.
