Photo: sportfotos-lafrentz.de The dream of competing at the World Championships in Aachen is over: According to the *Westfälische Zeitung*, veterinarians have not given Vayron NRW the green light to compete in the CDIO4* Nations Cup in Hagen. The son of Vitalis and the master rider had solidified their claim to a spot on the World Championships team at the end of April in Hagen at Horses & Dreams with a personal best score of more than 75 percent.
A few weeks later, the Westphalian horse was supposed to compete in the Hamburg Derby. However , that start had to be canceled. Ingrid Klimke and Vayron also had to withdraw from the German Championships in Balve, the first selection event for potential World Championship pairs.
Hagen Nations Cup: Second World Championship Tryout for German Candidates
In Balve, the dressage committee emphasized that Vayron and Ingrid Klimke are expected to compete in Hagen. This year, the Nations Cup—which is usually held in Aachen—will take place there. However, because the World Championships are scheduled to take place at the Soers in August, this second selection event for dressage riders will now be held at Hof Kasselmann in Hagen. In addition to the four riders competing for Germany in the CDIO4* Nations Cup, 15 other participants will have the opportunity to throw their hats into the ring for a nomination at the Hagen Dressage Stadium.
The team that will compete in Hagen was selected at the German Championships in Balve. The members are:
- Isabell Werth/Wendy
- Frederic Wandres/Bluetooth OLD
- Semmieke Rothenberger/Farrington
- Charlott-Maria Schürmann/Dante’s Pearl OLD
