NRPS stallion performance test 2025/26
Weihegold grandson L’Avenir and more from the NRPS stallion performance test
Class leader of the NRPS predisposition test: Magic McKee by Total McLaren. Photo: NRPS Born in 2020, L’Avenir, son of the former KWPN Champion Stallion Le Formidable by Bordeaux out of the Weihegold daughter Weihe’s Hope by Sir Donnerhall, was first a premium stallion at the Oldenburg licensing in 2023 and then also at the KWPN. The chestnut is owned by Dutch Grand Prix rider Saskia Gerrits-Poel. He was injured for a long time, which is why he has only now taken his performance test, but passed it with flying colors. His 85 points were achieved with nines in the partial scores for trot, self-carriage/balance, transitions and perspective.
In their comments, the evaluation committee praised not only the basic gaits but also the attitude and willingness to work of the stallion both under his own rider and in the test with other riders.
Top of the class Magic McKee
The Total McLaren-Negro-Florestan son Magic McKee L took the best test. He was bred by L Horses in Skanderborg, Denmark, and represents a Swedish dam line that has produced outstanding show jumpers in previous generations. This type of mating has often been observed to work in the Netherlands. This was also the case with this black stallion from Stal van de Sande, who received a 10 for his willingness to collect and his prospects as a dressage horse. All other scores were also very good or better. He therefore scored 93 points.
He was presented by Lina Uzunhasan, whose parents come from Turkey, but who was born in the USA and has been riding under the US flag since 2017. She now has her own stable in the Netherlands, has trained with Anky van Grunsven among others and, like Dinja van Liere, has been one of the dressage riders coached by western rider Rieky Young since 2022.
Other stallions with 85 points and better
Ready to Rumble had the second best test. He is also by Le Formidable and belongs to Saskia Gerrits-Poel. H.A. van Gils bred the five-year-old out of an Ampère dam. Ready to Rumble scored 87 points, thanks in part to a 9.5 each for trot and perspective.
The five-year-old Oldenburg Vintagio, bred by Dagmar Müller in Nottensdorf, also scored 87 points. The dark chestnut is sired by Louisdor Prize winner Viva Gold out of a Sorento dam. Hans Peter Minderhoud presented him for the owner Marlies Woudenberg. His walk stood out with a score of 9.5, but also his willingness to collect, rideability and obedience (all 9).
Half a point less was awarded to Dazzling Diamond by Desperado-Everdale (breeder: G.H. Tilma, rider: Bart Pouw), who impressed with good to very good basic gaits (walk 9, trot 8, canter 8.5), but above all with his attitude and obedience (both 9.5).
Another stallion who is well known in Germany is the Escamillo son Esquin White (dam by Florencio-Relevant), born in 2019. The white-born Oldenburg, bred by Sahlmann und Schmitz GmbH in Bleckede and owned by Cult Horses LLC from Ukraine, started his career at Redefin State Stud and last competed in 2024, at that time under Charlott-Maria Schürmann. He was presented by Cynthia Eggenkamp at the NRPS and received 86 points, including a 9 for trot, willingness to collect and perspective.

Jumping winner by United Touch S
European Champion United Touch S is not only a phenomenon as an athlete, he is also a very good sire, as this performance test has once again shown. The evaluation committee singled out United Sensation by United Touch S-Baldwin B as the best stallion of the test year.
The stallion’s breeder, owner and rider is Bart Bles, the Dutch five-star rider, who is still banned until June 24 because he himself was found to be using banned substances during a doping test.
Bles knew exactly what he was doing when he paired United Touch S with his Baldwin B daughter Easy Way. On the one hand, he rode United Touch S in international sport for quite some time before Richard Vogel took over the reins in 2022. On the other hand, Bles has had the dam, the granddam and also the dam’s sire in competition.
The result of the mating now received 86 points, including a 9 each for athleticism, ability, rideability, disposition as a show jumper and attitude.
The top three
Second best with 83 points was the Comme il faut son Classic Grey A&S. The dam Earl Grey by Cardento has competed up to 1.60 meters and already has a licensed son, I’m a Star by E Star, who is highly successful in sport himself. The “A&S” stands for Alexandra van der Peijl and Scarlett Wieberdink, who bred the gray stallion and still own him. Wieberdink presented her stallion herself and was delighted with a score of 83 points.
The gray Cumano de Zelande, bred by W. van de Plasse and owned by the Brinkman stables, achieved the same score. The Cumano-Balou de Rouet son was the champion stallion at his NRPS licensing and also scored 9.0 in the areas of technique, ability and disposition.
All passed
Only six stallions were tested in the show jumping category. But here too, all of them received their final breeding license. Apart from the three mentioned above, these were the others:
Don’t Ask (by Diarado-Casall ASK), 82 points
Unforgetable (by United Touch-Diarado), 81.5 points
Star van de Ganzepol (by Kalaska de Semilly-Ultimo), 81 points.
