Since the first foal had a Holsteiner sire, the second foal by Julia Krajewski's Amande B'Néville has shown a clearer inclination toward eventing.

Julia Krajewski reports that her 2021 Olympic eventing champion, Amande de B’Néville (Mandy), has given birth to her second foal. It is a small colt, sired by the Anglo-Arab Flic en Flac AA.

About Flic en Flac AA

This gray horse, bred in France, has been successful even in show jumping courses up to 1.40 meters and, after completing a 50-day test with his first crop of foals, earned the 1c premium from the Oldenburg Show Jumping Horse Breeders’ Association. The fourth dam is none other than Resena AA by Nithard AA, who produced Inschallah X, one of the most significant sires of the postwar era. She is also the dam of Cacir AA, the maternal sire of, among others, Isabell Werth’s Bella Rose and Emilio.

The mares from Flic en Flac AA’s first crop, in particular, attracted attention. From his first crop, he sired the OS Association’s 1c champion mare, Nea’s Fantastica, as well as three other mares that received the Hauptprämie award and one horse that competed in the Bundeschampionat.

No foal next year

Amande de B’Néville’s first foal was sired by Cascadello, the favorite stallion of her owner, Prof. Dr. Bernd Heicke. As a result, the young colt was quite colorful. The second foal is solid bay, though it could still take on its sire’s color.

Julia Krajewski goes on to say that Mandy is once again a wonderful mother, but that she should not be bred again next year.
