But now he has started his journey home even before the Partner Pferd has really begun. The reason for this is an accident that occurred on arrival on Wednesday evening, as a result of which he lost the twelve-year-old D’Aganix 2000 Z.
As the show jumper reports:
Despite immediate help and intensive professional care from several vets and groomers, it quickly became clear that there was no way to give him a pain-free life and a well-deserved retirement.
Making this decision was infinitely difficult, but it was done out of love and responsibility towards him.
The entire D’Aganix 2000 Z team is very sad and has returned home.
We will miss you very much.
The FN reports that the stallion was immediately taken to the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Leipzig. There he was examined in detail. It turned out that there was no chance of recovery for D’Aganix. To spare the stallion unnecessary suffering, the doctors advised him to be euthanized.
About D’Aganix 2000 Z
D’Aganix 2000 Z was a Zangersheide stallion, a son of Christian Ahlmann’s successful partner Dominator 2000 Z out of an Aganix du Seigneur-Andiamo Z dam. It is no coincidence that D’Aganix’s name is followed by a “2000” like his sire. They come from the same breeding house, that of the Corthouts & Foriers breeding community.
Christian Ahlmann took over the stallion from Dutch rider Michael Korompis at the end of 2021 and brought him into the big sport via the Youngster Tour. In 2024, the pair had their first five-star competitions and won the Sires of the World show jumping competition in Opglabbeek, which was not the traditional event as part of the World Championships for Young Show Jumpers, but a 1.45-metre open competition.
In 2025, they placed in Paris, Münster and Brussels, came sixth in the Global Tour Grand Prix in Riesenbeck and second in a GCT show jumping competition in Morocco. In short, the stallion’s career had only just really taken off.
