When the Emperor Crowns Kim Queen – Dutch Victory in the Sires of the World Show Jumping Competition
Der Kaiser von Zangersheide leads Kim Emmen to victory in the 2026 Sires of the World Show Jumping competition.
Photo: Sportfotos-lafrentz.de The Dutch have had a rather unlucky run at championships since 2022. But today, Kim Emmen once again secured a great victory for the Oranje, riding the 11-year-old KWPN stallion Kaiser DMH by Cardento, bred and owned by E. Berkhof Paarden B.V.
As the fourth pair in the seven-team playoff, the two posted a confident—though not breakneck—clear round. The clock stopped at 40.94 seconds.
It was faster. This was demonstrated immediately after her by UAE rider Abdul Aziz Al Marzooqi, riding the Oldenburg stallion Chacco Bay by Chaccato, who is owned by Al Shira’aa Stables. The pair crossed the finish line in 39.37 seconds—though they had one knockdown.
The following pairs also failed to complete a clear round and finish faster than Emmen and Kaiser, who were thus crowned “Sires of the World.”
The placings
. Right in second place was the very first pair from the jump-off: the powerful but still somewhat unrefined Holsteiner stallion Money Time by Million Dollar, bred by ZG Stegemann. The pair had given it their all, clearing the first distance with one fewer gallop stride, but paid for their daring by veering off the ideal line and ultimately finishing clear but slower, in 41.70 seconds.
Third place went to Egon Shchibrik (who is actually Russian), riding for Palestine, on Crack by Cornet Obolensky—a former Holsteiner Association stallion once ridden by Richard Vogel to the Bundeschampionat title. Fresh off their World Championships appearance in Aachen, Crack and Shchibrik delivered the third double-clear round of the day. Marzooqi finished fourth.
Thanks to fast four-fault rounds in the first round, World Cup finalists Patrick Stühlmeyer and Baloutaire PS (ninth place) and Tim Rieskamp-Goedeking, riding the Westphalian stallion Toenne by Thagoras, (11th place).
