Hannes Ahlmann's most successful horse to date, the Holstein mare Tokyo, has been sold and will be at home in Sweden in the future.

As reported by the Schleswig-Holstein regional magazine Pferd + Sport, the sale of Tokyo was announced during the first show at the Ahlmann family’s facility in Reher. According to the report, the Toulon daughter bred by architect Jürgen Böge will be ridden by a twelve-year-old young Swedish rider in the future. She has already accompanied one young rider on his way into the big sport, Hannes Ahlmann.

The 25-year-old trained the eleven-year-old mare himself. In 2022, he rode her to fourth place at the World Championships for young show jumpers, among other things. From the Youngster Tour to World Cup appearances at five-star level, they were a well-coordinated team. The pair were victorious in one of the main jumping competitions in Neumünster.

Until now, Tokyo has belonged to Hannes Ahlmann’s long-time patron, Prof. Dr. Bernd Heicke. The fact that she is now going to Sweden is the right step, explained Dirk Ahlmann: “Above all, we feel great gratitude. Gratitude for the time together that my son Hannes was able to experience with this extraordinary horse. This step is the right decision for Tokyo.”

Hannes Ahlmann’s great hope for the future is the nine-year-old KWPN stallion Madness by Kannan, who came second in the Neumünster Championships over 1.55 meters and reached the final of the World Championships for Young Show Jumpers twice with Hannes in the saddle, as a five and six-year-old.
