Attention young volunteers under 26! "I'm young and committed, let me in here!" As part of the 2026 World Championships in Aachen, the "Young Leaders Germany Camp - Empowering Youth. Celebrating Engagement". 35 young people from all over Germany will have the chance to experience the World Championships up close.

The aim of the camp is to make young volunteers in equestrian sport visible, promote them and strengthen them in the long term. A total of 35 committed young people from all over Germany will come together during the WEG Aachen 2026. The program includes further education, networking and a mission: to set new impulses for the equestrian sport together. The Young Leaders Germany Camp is sponsored by the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth and supported by the German Sports Youth in the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB).


The opportunity for committed young people


Young people and young adults aged 16 to 25 can apply for a place at the young volunteers’ camp: Condition: They must be involved in equestrian sport on a voluntary basis – be it in a club, association or at state level. A total of 35 places are available. The selection is made by a selection committee, with two places allocated to each state equestrian sports association. The application deadline is April 30, 2026.


The program at the young volunteers’ camp


Participants can expect a varied and practical program. Workshops on current and relevant equestrian sport topics are planned, as well as discussion rounds with well-known personalities from sport, voluntary work and association work. Of course, there will also be joint visits to selected competitions at the World Championships, including the eventing and show jumping arenas.


Accommodation, team clothing and tickets to the events are included in the camp. The participants’ own contribution is 100 euros.


Management team wanted


A five-person leadership team is also being sought in parallel to the participant application. Interested parties aged between 21 and 35 with experience in youth work can apply until February 28, 2026. The tasks in the management team are varied and include press and public relations work, photo and video documentation, program and workshop design, educational youth work and on-site medical care.


Strong platform for young volunteers


Annika Schalück, Head of Youth of the German Equestrian Federation (FN), emphasizes the importance of the new format: “With the Young Leaders Germany Camp, we want to offer young committed people a platform to network, learn from each other and develop personally. The World Championships in Aachen provide the perfect backdrop for this. We look forward to receiving many motivated applications.”


Digital Q&A sessions will be offered to support the applicants: For the management team on February 10, 2026 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. and for interested participants on March 31, 2026, also from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
