Spring tournament Luhmühlen
Lara de Liederkerke-Meier wins Luhmühlen CCI3*, Jahncke the national competition
Heike Jahncke and Mighty Spring are very familiar with the conditions in Luhmühlen. Photo: Archive Sportfotos-lafrentz.de Lara de Liederkerke-Meier associates Luhmühlen with her first five-star victory, among other things. In 2024, she won the German CCI5*-L on Hooney d’Arville. This weekend, she brought the ten-year-old Quintus with her to the heath. She trained the Belgian Diarado son herself and competed with him at the World Championships for Young Event Horses in 2023. Last year, they were able to complete their first four-star competitions, including in Luhmühlen, where they had a stop in the cross-country.
This weekend was different. The gelding presented himself confidently at three-star level with the only clear round in the cross-country. The dressage score of 27.2 minus points was only added to by the four faults for the knockdown in the course. 31.2 penalty points were enough to relegate the best pair after the dressage, the World Championship aspirants Malin Hansen-Hotopp and her 14-year-old Holstein Carlitos Quidditch, to second place. They opened the season with a calm cross-country ride at the first outing and accepted 8.8 time faults.
Anna Siemer and the ten-year-old Hanoverian mare Grazia K were delighted with third place at their home fixture. Siemer had taken over the Gem of India daughter from Andreas Brandt in 2024 and had already placed with her several times in three-star competitions. At the end of the 2025 season, they also ventured into CCI4*, but have not yet been able to finish here. However, they started this season with 27.8 penalty points in dressage (the same result as last year at the same venue), clear jumping and 6.8 time faults in the cross-country. That meant 34.6 minus points in total.
Jahncke dominates national test
Twelve pairs competed in the national M/S eventing competition. Here, two pairs made it to the cross-country finish within the time allowed, fighting their way to the top after midfield placings in the dressage, first and foremost Heike Jahncke with her now 16-year-old Mighty Magic daughter Mighty Spring.
After the dressage, the pair were in seventh place with 32.3 penalty points. Time was also an issue in the course. Only one pair finished without time penalties. For Jahncke and Mighty Spring, 1.6 penalty points were added to the dressage result. The 33.9 penalty points ultimately meant victory.
The second pair without fault in the cross-country were Pauline Knorr and the Hanoverian-bred Aevolet by Anke. It was only the 0.4 minus points in the course that added to their 36.3 minus points in the dressage. This allowed them to secure second place by a tenth of a point.
The pair narrowly beaten into third place were Calvin Böckmann and Altair de la Cense, who were already third after the dressage (31.2), collected a knockdown in the course and 1.6 time faults in the cross-country.
Only Arne Bergendahl and Bronco NRW were clear in the course. In the end, they came fourth.
The two-star competitions in Luhmühlen will not be decided until tomorrow. You can find all the results here.
