The many talented horses that have moved to Lütjensee in Schleswig-Holstein in recent years have now been joined by yet another, this time one that has already achieved international Grand Prix success.

As first reported by Eurodressage, Charlotte Dujardin has sold the twelve-year-old Westphalian mare Alive and Kicking to the Oatley family. With the All at Once daughter, the three-time British Olympic champion was placed at several World Cup stages this winter season and would have qualified for the final in Fort Worth, but withdrew her.

Since April 14, Alive and Kicking has been officially registered with the FEI as being owned by Rosalind Oatley, Kristy Oatley’s mother, and Ballmoor Partner GmbH & Co KG.

A stable full of talent

The Oatleys’ facility in Lütjensee is probably home to one of the most top-class collections of talented dressage horses in Germany. This year, Rose Oatley presented the eight-year-old Oldenburg stallion Dabutant PS by Deparaon a. d. Zantana RS2 in his first advanced (S) level tests, a three-time Bundeschampionat finalist.

She then has the former KWPN premium stallion Opoque under her saddle, who should have gone to the World Championships for Young Dressage Horses for the Netherlands last year. However, as Rose Oatley was seeded for the U21 European Championship team with the Burg Cup finalist Don Domingo (still under Emma Kanerva in Frankfurt), she was unable to ride in another championship. Nevertheless, Opoque is an exceptional horse.

The Oatleys also bought the Danish mare Saffron in 2025, who had won the qualifier at last year’s World Championships for six-year-old dressage horses and finished fourth in the final.

Rose Oatley has already competed in her first Grand Prix competitions. Instead, she was given another horse by Emma Kanerva from owner Gert Saborowski: the mare Feldrose FRH. Both Don Domingo and Feldrose are still registered under the ownership of Gert Saborowski.
