Photo: Pferd International/Hubert Fischer The nine-year-old former riding horse Bundeschampioness already impressed with her obedience, permeability and commitment in the warm-up test yesterday. Today in the actual Nuremberg Burg Cup qualifier in Munich, she and her rider Sabina Schrödter went one better and won with 74.732 percent. This means that Feine Bella is now the second mare after Patrik Kittel’s J’Adore Dior to be recommended for Frankfurt.
Feine Bella was a discovery when she became Bundeschampioness of four-year-old mares and geldings – in the presence of her breeder consortium Artmeier, Becker, Delling and Wibbecke. The breeding community, which still owned the mare at the time, was delighted. Then the time came to sell her. The Westphalian Studbook organized an auction at which Andreas Helgstrand won the bid for the mare. She moved to Denmark. As a five-year-old, she qualified for the World Championships for Young Dressage Horses and came sixth in the final. After that, things were quiet around the mare for a while before she became the property of Simone Werle and was ridden by Sabina Schrödter in 2024.
With her permeability and reliability, the mare has won M and S classes in a row at regional level in recent years. In Munich, she has now proven that she can do the same on the big stage.
Second place to another Bundeschampionat finalist
The mare who came second with 74.049 percent is an impressive horse with great scope for movement: the nine-year-old Oldenburg mare Visser’s Hit Valeria VEC, bred by Simone and Thomas Visser, owned by Sven Hecht and presented by Nicole Grosch. Grosch has accompanied the mare since her first riding horse test. Along the way, they have competed in three Bundeschampionat finals. The mare was not always completely happy with her contact today, otherwise she would certainly have achieved a higher score.
Harmonious performance by the pair in third place
A horse of a completely different type, the elegant, light-footed Oldenburg chestnut gelding Zewano OLD, owned by Norbert and Sandra Nuxoll, was beaten by a wafer-thin margin with exactly 74 percent. The son of Zackerey came sixth at last year’s World Championships for Young Dressage Horses. Then as now, he was presented by Franz Trischberger. The pair’s test today was characterized by great ease and harmony. For even higher marks, the flying changes, among other things, would have to be jumped more securely upwards and a mistake crept into the four-in-hand.
And what else?
It wasn’t just the horses in the top places in the Munich Burg Cup qualifier that impressed. Thanks to his solid basic training, Raphael Netz’ Glamourdoc, who finished fourth with 73.317 percent, is also a real favorite.
Katharina Hemmer had already been very impressed in Hagen with how well her self-trained Escanciador aka “Emil” mastered his first overnight show. He still lacks a bit of strength and unity, but everything is on the right track, as 72.659 percent and fifth place showed again today.
If there had been a special prize for the most satisfied horse, the Dimagico daughter Diamond Girl would have been a hot contender under her owner Raphaela Meixner. The eight-year-old Hanoverian mare may not have the most spectacular movements, but she radiated such calm, was so soft in her contact and completely relaxed that it was a pleasure to watch her and her rider. The judges were able to award her 69.537 percent, which was ninth place in the final ranking.
Freestyle victory for Sissy
After yesterday’s “elephant race” in the special in Munich, in which Dante’s Pearl made a strong impression on the national trainer and World Championship selectors, it was the turn of the freestyle of the five-star tour in Munich today. This time the winner was Laura Strobel in the saddle on the 14-year-old Oldenburg mare Sister’s Act. Both rider and horse were trained by Dorothee Schneider. Laura Strobel is now solely responsible for riding the horses at Vorwerk Stud, and with increasing success. Today they received 77.795 percent – a new Personal Best.
Second was Lisa Müller on D’Avie (76.165), followed by Yara Reichert with Springbank II (74.770).
