At the proud age of 28, the Oldenburg stallion Show Star has bid farewell to Holkenbrink Stallion Station forever.

This is reported by the Holkenbrink family. “After 28 years of life, we had to say goodbye to station stallion Show Star … Show Star was an exceptional stallion for us in breeding and sport. Many of his offspring are highly successful in international dressage sport. He himself was the first Bundeschampion in our stable. He won the 2001 Bundeschampionat and came second in the 2002 Bundeschampionat under Henrike Sommer. Under Oliver Oelrich he came second in the final of the Nuremberg Burg Cup.”

The Oldenburg Sandro Hit son later became Sophie Holkenbrink’s trainer and carried her to team gold at the 2010 U18 European Championships and fourth place in the individual rankings. Until ten years ago, he accompanied a young rider on her first competitions in the arena.

Breeding

Show Star was bred by Tanja Baade, who opted for the star sire Sandro Hit for her Hanoverian mare Feine Dame by Feinbrand-Wendenburg. Show Star is probably the most important sire from his mare family.

He brought five Grand Prix horses, four with international successes, including Sole Mio ridden by Fabienne Müller-Lütkemeier. Almost 50 horses were successful in the advanced class. Five Show Star sons were licensed.
