National Champion Happy Days Di Fonteabeti is now being ridden by Jessica von Bredow-Werndl

Photo: sportfotos-lafrentz.de We know the rider, we know the horse, but as a pair they’re new—Jessica von Bredow-Werndl won the Class S dressage test at Gut Ising with the eight-year-old Hanoverian mare Happy Days Di Fonteabeti. With a score of 80.035 percent, they prevailed in their first competition together as a new partnership against former Aubenhausen stable rider Adrian Muñoz Jurado on the Oldenburg stallion Son Coeur.
The latter belongs to Yara Reichert. Although the “Secret” son had the higher “quality scores” (83.6 percent), when combined with the technical score, his total was 78.146 percent—making it “only” the second-best result.
Coming in a close third was a Secret offspring who has been under Jessica von Bredow-Werndl’s saddle for quite some time and also competed in Schäftlarn last weekend: Singleton, also known as “Toni.” He’s gaining more and more competition experience and finished today’s round with a score of 78.012 percent.
A young horse for a young rider
Unlike Singleton, Happy Days Di Fonteabeti is not owned by the Werndls or Aubenhausen Dressage GmbH & Co. KG, but by former European Pony Champion Lilly Marie Collin.
The daughter of Valverde—who is registered with the Hanoverian Association but has Italian breeders through Soc. Agricola Allevamento Fonteabeti—previously belonged to Helgstrand Dressage. Maxi Kira von Platen, who was a Helgstrand rider at the time, rode her to an eighth-place finish at the 2023 World Championships for Young Dressage Horses and to the title at the Bundeschampionat.
The mare was then sold to the Collin family. At first, however, it was not European Pony Champion Lilly Marie Collin herself who presented her, but her trainer, Stefanie Wittmann. With her, too, the mare qualified for the Bundeschampionat at ages six and seven. After that, Lilly Marie Collin herself took the reins of Happy Days de Fonteabeti.
In the spring, they won their first M-level dressage competition in Ankum and then placed right away in their first two S-level starts. The mare has not competed in any more than these three classes this season.
“Client’s Horse”
Jessica von Bredow-Werndl introduced her today in her Instagram Story as a “client’s horse” whom she has only recently met.
