Unbelievable—he jumps just like his father, United Touch S

Photo: sportfotos-lafrentz.de Incredible—bred by Heinrich Dowe and still owned by him—was presented by Hendrik Dowe. The United Touch S son is out of a Carrico dam and was the fastest of the six clear rounds in the jump-off: the pair, which had placed second in this show last year, completed the course in 46.31 seconds. This result relegated the family project, Luisa Himmelreich, to second place by a margin of 44 hundredths of a second. She had saddled Paul FB, a nine-year-old Hanoverian by Perigeux. The breeder is Friedrich Bode.
The Sosath Double
Things went particularly well for Hendrik Sosath from Lemwerder. He rode two of the station’s stallions into the jump-off, where both completed clear rounds. Specifically, this meant third place for Casino Grande by Casino Berlin out of Contact Me, bred by his parents, with a time of 0/47.94 seconds. Fourth place went to Diamant de Plaisir II. This Hanoverian, by Diamant de Simmelly out of For Pleasure, was also bred by Gerd Sosath, Hendrik’s father. Sosath rode the nine-year-old with a focus on safety. The strategy paid off: clear round, 48.49 seconds.
Hinner Is Faster Than the Rest of the World
The absolute fastest time was set by—well, who else?—Sophie Hinnas, who newly crowned women’s team world champion von Aachen had ridden Corey, a Württemberg stallion bred and owned by Martin Franz Vogel. The eight-year-old son of Comme le père and Rockwell clocked 43.6 seconds—nearly three seconds faster than the winner, Hendrik Dowe. But a knockdown dropped the pair to fifth place. Kai Thomann finished sixth, having ridden the Oldenburg horse Doriano through the course in 46.69 seconds with four faults. Peter Wendeln is the breeder and owner of this Diarrado-Coulerubin son.
This brought the total number of rider-horse combinations at the start to 35. Thirty-three completed the course: Eleven of them were registered with the Oldenburg International (OS) Show Jumping Horse Breeding Association. Eight were from Holstein, five each from Hanover and the DSP. Two Rhinelanders, two Oldenburgs, and two Westphalians—both of which, incidentally, were descended from United Touch S—rounded out the field.
