Germany's show jumpers for the European Championships for Children, Juniors, and Young Riders in Hagen

The German prospects for the European Junior Show Jumping Championships

Max Paschertz and Cathilde H have earned a spot on the European Championship team, in part thanks to their victory in the Young Riders Grand Prix at the Future Champions.

From July 19 to 26, the Haunhorst family’s equestrian center in Hagen will host the European Junior Show Jumping Championships. The DOKR has now announced who will be riding for Germany this year.

It’s helpful to have parents who are active in sports themselves, judging by the team rosters for the European Championships in Hagen. The DOKR has named the following pairs:


Children



  • Luisa Charlotte Brocks, riding Cordijana (second horse: Dybala Z) >, daughter of former national pony coach Karl Brocks, was the European team champion last year and placed fifth in the individual competition.

  • Grace Isabelle Kühner, riding Rassina-M ( > ), daughter of show jumper Max Kühner, in her first championship, rode a double clear round in the Nations Cup at the Future Champions

  • Mila Osing with Capitaine (second horse: Armani Code) >, the sister of dressage rider Ava Osing—who is alsonominated for the European Junior Championships with Destacado, Matthias Rath’s former national team horse—is competing in her first championship; had three clear rounds this year in the Nations Cup at Zduchovice and contributed to the team’s third-place finish at the Future Champions with scores of four and zero faults

  • Joelle Sprehe with Starlinda (second horse: Con Gold) >, daughter of show jumper Jörne Sprehe, in her first championship, has earned a spot on the team because she has ridden exclusively clear rounds in three Nations Cups

  • Justus Thomsen with Clooney (second horse: Colombo) >, son of show jumper Peter Jakob Thomsen, played a key role in winning the European Championship gold medal in 2025 with three clear rounds

  • Reserve: Mary-Ann Hollenbach with Falitha Sheila >; this year, they won, among other awards, the Children’s Grand Prix in Zuidwolde


Juniors



  • Brianne Beerbaum with Kiss Me (second horses: Big Dream and Zenzero) >, daughter of Markus and Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum, with an endless list of achievements, including three European Championship appearances—twice in the Children’s division (team gold, individual bronze) and once in the Pony division— making her debut in the Junior division, but already victorious and highly placed in show jumping up to 1.45 meters

  • Jolie Marie Kühner, riding Bastille > —the second daughter of Max Kühner—was this year’s winner of the “Prize of the Best,” was a member of the winning Children’s European Championship team in 2023, and took bronze in the individual competition

  • Malte Merschformann, riding Blue Water > —son of former European team champion Markus Merschformann—was a member of the European Pony Championships team in 2024 and 2025, winning team silver in 2024 and placing fourth in the individual standings

  • Tony Stormanns with Rmf Cinnamo >, son of the internationally successful Helens Stormanns, who today enjoys the highest recognition as a trainer (including Nina Mallevaey); has competed in every European Championship since 2021 and won double gold in the Children’s division in 2022

  • Lennard Tillmann with Veltiner >, son of Derby winner Frederic Tillmann, with his sister Madlin, a dressage rider who was twice European Pony Champion

  • Reserve Player: Hannah Blandfort with Tara Levista

  • Reserve: Ava Ferch with Tendresse de la Vie Z

  • Alternate: Victoria Schumacher with Noah de Kalvarie


Young riders



  • Emma Bachl, riding Condolcessa ( > —daughter of Tobias Bachl from the Bavarian stud farm of the same name—was part of last year’s U21 team that placed fourth

  • Tjade Carstensen with Lintero (Second horse: Aperol Fritz) >, a son of the Carstensen family from the Sollwitt stallion station in Schleswig-Holstein, which boasts a highly successful breeding program; Tjade’s older sisters, Beeke and Tjade, are also highly successful in the saddle and have won various medals for Germany; Tjade was the winner of Germany’s U25 Jumping Cup in 2025

  • Max Paschertz, riding Foodfox’s Cathilde H >, is the winner of the “Preis der Besten” and recently won the Grand Prix at the Future Champions; his sister Clara competes in dressage and has won three team gold medals at the Children’s European Championships; their mother, Dr. Katharina Paschertz, is a veterinarian and has bred two Oldenburg champion stallions: Bonds and La Paix

  • Tomma Thiesen with Django Riff (second horse: Big Lady ZE) > Tomma is a rider at the Köhlbrandt Stables on Fehmarn and is having an incredible season, with a top-three finish in the Neumünster Championship and, most recently, a victory in the Medium Tour Final at the DKB Horse Weeks in Hohen Wieschendorf; this will be her first championship

  • Romy Rosalie Tietje riding Cascadino > —another rising star from the far north who placed fourth in the Neumünster Grand Prix and has already competed in two European Championships: in 2025 in the Young Riders category (no medal) and in 2019 in the Children’s category, where she won silver in the team event

  • Reserve: Naomi Himmelreich with Fling Kiss or Guepard de Chalusse >, and others; winner of the Golden Saddle in 2025

  • Reserve: Mathies Rüder with Carlesta >, the son of eventing rider Kai Rüder, was crowned European Junior Individual and Team Champion in eventing in three appearances and won team bronze twice more—once in the U18 category and most recently in the U21 category— and last year made his debut in show jumping as part of the European Championship team.
