Matthias Bouten's Aimée la Vie wins Stars of Tomorrow qualifier at Balve

Matthias Bouten’s eleven-year-old DSP mare Aimée la Vie by Amazing Spirit beat her competitors in the Stars of Tomorrow qualifier in Balve today with a clear round. She was the only horse to achieve a score of more than 70 percent, 70.631 percent to be precise.

Aimée la Vie is one of the horses that Matthias Bouten got under the saddle after returning to NRW from southern Germany last year. Until then, she had been ridden by Kathrin Roida from tests for young riding horses up to advanced (S***) level. In June, the pair won three S*** tests in Pillersee, Austria (albeit with a maximum of three participants), and at the end of September the mare went to her first show with Bouten. Today was their first victory together.

Other winners

Second place went to Friederike Tebbel and her magnificent San Amour son Serious. Of all things, the gelding’s greatest strength, the piaffe-passage tour, was where the pair were unable to score as well as usual today and with 69.974 percent they not only narrowly missed the 70 percent mark, but also victory.

Niklas Brokamp’s ten-year-old Westphalian Unikat B, bred by the family, came third after a very solid performance. The judges awarded him 68.816 percent.

With his winner from yesterday, the Oldenburg gelding F-Type OLD, Matthias Bouten came fourth this time. An unsuccessful first salute and mistakes in the two-up changes during the rest of the test were costly. Result: 68.474 percent.
