FN Breeding Advisory Board presents innovations at annual meeting
FN Breeding Advisory Board: New speaker group, ZVO adjustments and more
Symbol photo: sportfotos-lafrentz.de The delegates approved the establishment of a new spokesperson group to replace the previous Breeding Committee. Vice President Carsten Grill justified this by stating that he could not represent the entire breeding community with all its breeds alone on the Executive Committee and was therefore seeking broader support.
In addition to Grill and Executive Committee member Dr. Norbert Camp, the new spokesperson group includes seven other people: (in alphabetical order) Ahmed Al Sammaraie (Rotenburg), Dr. Hinni Lührs-Behnke (Verden-Borstel), Raimon Joesten (Hemmingstedt-Lieth), Ralf Johanshon (Ostbevern), Hanno Köhncke (Badendorf) Gerd Sosath (Lemwerder), Antje Römer-Stauber (Kirchhain-Kleinseelheim).
Their task is to support the two elected breeding representatives on the Executive Committee in an advisory capacity.
Grill also noted that internal coordination within the breeding community still had potential for optimization compared to the sport. The 1:1 voting ratio between sport and breeding within the general meeting could be maintained in the course of the amendment to the articles of association.
ZVO adjustments
The advisory board decided on several changes to the breeding association regulations. In future, three- and four-year-old riding horse and pony stallions must achieve a minimum score of 7.5 at the Bundeschampionate in order to be awarded HLP points.
For jumping stallions, clear round jumping tests from 1.20 meters for five-year-olds are now included in the evaluation. Background: This is the only test form that is still advertised internationally for five-year-olds. For German Riding Ponies, show jumping successes can also contribute to the ten-point rule in future.
The publication of mandatory genetic test results will be shifted from the central association website to the stallion distribution plan of the respective breeding association.
Important for owners of ponies and small horses: In performance tests, basic gaits and rideability will no longer be tested in a dressage test, but the test candidates can be presented freely based on the test.
Meeting regarding GOT
There is positive news with regard to the demand for a revision of the current scale of fees for veterinarians, GOT. Not only the FN, but also the Association of German Livestock Owners (VDTH) had approached the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and put forward written arguments and formulated demands. There was a response, as Dr. Klaus Miesner reported. Federal Minister of Agriculture Alois Rainer had promised an appointment to discuss the evaluation of the GOT.
