Free jumping competition for Hanoverian show jumpers in Verden: Noblesse S and Unica Tamara DB in the lead
Hanoverian free-jumping women’s power in the Niedersachsenhalle
Noblesse S by Nevados is the winner of the three-year-olds at the Hanoverian Free Jumping Competition 2026 in Verden. Photo Hannoveraner Verband Both mares presented themselves with a combination of ability, overview and technique – suitable for modern show jumping. This was the opinion of the judges, show jumping horse breeding expert Heinz Meyer and Thomas Schönig from the Hanoverian Verband.
The winner of the three-year-old class was undisputed: Noblesse S, a daughter of Nevado S. Bred in Poland on a Holsteiner basis, this gray stallion has been highly successful in international sport for many years under the Belgian rider Gregory Wathelet. The dam of Noblesse S is sired by Diamant de Plaisir (breeder and rider: Ernst Stahlhut, Stadthagen). She impressed with her even movement and clear ability at the jump. The judges awarded a “very good” for jumping ability and intelligence, which was reflected in the final score of 26.7. A total of 25 three-year-olds came to Verden for the free jumping competition.
Celebrity connections at the Hanoverian free jumping competition
Second place went to Samoa by Stolzenberg-Diacontinus (breeder and rider: Marschalk-Pecksen, Elmlohe) with a score of 25.5. Third place, just behind Samoa, was shared by two mares (25.4): Charlotte KHR by Checkter-Glasgow van’t Merelsnest (breeder and rider: Karl-Henning Rollwage) and an as yet unnamed Zinedream-Stanley daughter (breeder and rider: Friedel Cordes), who was also able to draw attention to herself through her pedigree – half-sister to the Bundeschampioness Chacoona Cat.
Both mares underlined the approach of targeted jumper breeding: As young horses, both dams were themselves successfully placed in the Hanoverian free jumping competition in Verden.
Diamant de Semilly granddaughter in front in the four-year-old class
A clear picture also emerged among the four-year-olds. Unica Tamara DB by Utamaro d’Ecaussines-Casallco (breeder and rider: Duchac Training Stables) presented herself confidently, with a great overview and ease of movement. After her performance last year, she confirmed her development and prevailed against the 13-strong competition.
No free-jumping competition without “Jo”
Following close behind was Coco Jo PJ, a paternal half-sister to World Cup winner Greya. Like Kent Farrington’s speedy mare, Coco Jo PJ is also sired by Colestus. The mare was born at Dr. Jacobs GbR, Bierbergen. Her dam Bambi Jo by Balou du Rouet was recently successful at the Hanoverian Jumper Masters. She is out of a full sister of the licensed Escudo full brothers.
The kennel of the horses with the “Jo” is spoiled for success in the Hanoverian free jumping competition. They have often gone home with the winner’s sash. Although it wasn’t enough this year, Dr. Jacobs GbR also took third place in the four-year-old category with Dandy Man PJ by Diro.
