It was the first show for the Viva Gold son bred by Bernd Göke, a medium (M) level dressage test for young horses with a total of eight starters. They won with a final score of 8.34, made up of trot 8.5, walk 8.0, canter 8.7, scope 8.2 and overall impression 8.3.
Champion stallion
V-Power left the 2022 Westphalian licensing as the champion stallion. The dark bay by Finess by Fidertanz-Show Star, half-brother to Belmore by Belissimo M, who was also licensed and successful at Grand Prix level, became the property of Helgstrand Dressage for an official hammer price of 1.2 million euros.
Here he was initially ridden by Mette Sejbjerg Jensen, but not at the show. V-Power completed his three-year old short VA in Münster-Handorf and finished with an 8.14. He completed his obligatory performance test in Denmark with an 8.31.
Isabell Werth first showed V-Power under saddle at stallion presentations – just like world champion Proud James, for example. Since Helgstrand Dressage Germany moved its headquarters from Syke to her stables in Rheinberg at the beginning of the year, she has been responsible for training riders and horses.
Bundeschampionat bronze medal winner
The day in Herford began with a novice class test for young dressage horses, which saw a reunion with a horse that had long disappeared from the scene: Gut Neuenhof’s Maxima by Maxim. The mare had won bronze at the Bundeschampionat as a three-year-old, but only competed once as a four-year-old (fourth place in a test for young riding horses). She returned today.
The class A dressage test for young horses was open to four to six-year-olds, but there was only one four-year-old and one six-year-old horse at the start. Their ten colleagues were all built in 2021, like Maxima. The mare was unimpressed at her first competition in almost a year. She won confidently with an 8.6 ahead of four pairs from RV Oldenburger Münsterland, the Oldenburg stallions Delano PS by Dynamic Dream with Tanja Fischer (8.4) and Iconic Diamond by Iron under Sina Eilers (8.2) as well as the two Total Hope offspring True Story PS with Brandi Roenick and Touch of Hope under Tanja Fischer (8.0 each).
Eventing rider Pia Leuwer, who is expecting her first child, came out on top in the test for young dressage horses. She presented the five-year-old Hanoverian stallion B-Win by Bon Courage. Bon Courage, whom she has been training since he was three years old, for an 8.0.
