The Baden-Württemberg Horse Breeding Association hosted the traditional free-running and free-jumping competition in Marbach at the weekend. Almost 70 horses and ponies took part. One stable produced two winners.

With four mares that have proven themselves in sport, the Pech family from Ottenbach breeds sport horses. The focus is on breeding show jumpers – but the youngsters from the Alb can also move, as was seen last weekend in Marbach.

Three-year-old double-talented warmbloods

The outstanding horse among the three-year-old double talented warmbloods was the gelding Cazou by Conthargos-Icare d’Olymp AA, bred by the Pech family. As a representative of the Oldenburg Kaetchen-Kateste line, which produced the Olympic eventing stallion Volturno by Vollkorn xx/Otto Ammermann, among others, he was born with a versatile talent. He achieved an overall score of 8.5, which was calculated from a 9.0 each for jumping ability and technique together with scores of 7.8 (walk), 8.2 (trot) and 8.5 (canter).

A total of four horses competed in this division. Second place went to Ciara della Luna by Chambretto GT-Con Air, bred and owned by Lothar Egetenmeier. The show jumping judges Olaf Peters and Uwe Eberhardt awarded her the highest score of the lot: 9.2. Overall, she scored 8.24.

Acordelli-Ituango xx is the pedigree of the third-placed horse (7.5), Niacordella, bred by Dr. Julia Haydn. Number four of the quartet with 7.28 was Una’s Light by Uno I-Colander, bred and owned by Mara Maier.

Four-year-old show jumpers

Winner number two for the Pech family in Marbach was Carlota One by Codex One-Inshallah de Muze. The gray mare from a Dutch mare family was not homebred, but found her way to Ottenbach as a foal. ZG Böpple in Ditzingen is the breeder responsible for the gray mare and, like the owners, was delighted with a final score of 9.0, with which Carlota prevailed against 13 other competitors. Technique and ability were both rated 9.0.

He was followed closely by Cooler Horst S by Contendro-Concorde, bred and exhibited by Sabine Reisenauer, who scored 8.95 (technique 8.8, ability 9.1). The third-placed Nika by Narcing-Clearway (breeder: ZG Maier & Mayerföls, rider: Benjamin Maier) scored 8.9 (technique 9.0, ability 8.8). The judges awarded the fourth-placed Viva la Vida by Vingino-Diacontinus (breeder and rider: Thomas Nessensohn) the highest ability score (9.2).

Three-year-old show jumpers

There were five three-year-old show jumpers. First place went to Dourkess BS by Dourkhan Hero Z-Corlensky G, bred by Sportpferde Türk and owned by Bernd Schuster. 8.3 for technique and 9.0 for ability added up to 17.3 points or an 8.65 for the dark bay, who has a dam who has jumped to advanced (S) level herself.

Lothar Egetenmeier’s Ciara della Luna was again second here with a score of 8.6, outperforming her rival with her ability (9.2), but not quite getting as much in the technique (8.0).

Third place went to Paulchen by Perigueux-Diarado, a stallion bred by Johannes Pfeifle, who was also an exhibitor. The final scores here were 8.5 (technique) and 8.0 (ability) and 8.25 respectively.

Four-year-old double-talented warmbloods

First Sunlight S by For Romance-De Niro came out on top in the four-year-old double-ponied warmblood class. The S behind the mare’s name stands for breeder and owner Sabine Reisenauer. In keeping with her pedigree, the basic gaits were particularly convincing with a score of 8.0 in walk, 8.6 in trot and 8.5 in canter. The jumping technique was rated 7.2 and the ability 7.4, making a total score of 7.94.

Colorful Princess by Chubakko-Chambertin, bred and owned by Karin Rettenmeier, came second with a score of 7.86. 7.8 in walk and canter, 8.0 in trot were the scores for the basic gaits. 7.7 for technique and 8.0 for ability completed the evaluation.

Third place went to Sally’s Mireno by Segantini-Sandro Hit, bred by Erwin Feichtenbeiner and owned by Michael Krautter. He also impressed in the basic gaits with 7.8 in walk, 8.5 in trot and 8.2 in canter. The jumping technique was rated 7.0, the ability 7.5.

Three-year-old dressage horses

In the dressage horse category, judges Sonja Pilton and Fritz Fleischmann awarded a score for type in addition to the scores for the basic gaits. My Future Lady M by Montgomery-Fahrenheit, bred and owned by Reinhold Marschall, was the only horse to receive a score of 8.0 or better in all areas: 8.5 for type and walk, 8.3 for trot and 8.2 for canter. This resulted in a final score of 8.38.

For Romance I-De Niro was also the recipe for the second-placed stallion from ZG Bretzel named Fabiano. The final score of 8.03 was calculated from the type score of 8.2, 7.3 in walk and 8.3 each in trot and canter.

Lothar Egetenmeier’s Ciara della Luna by Chambretto GT-Con Air also took a top three place in this field, this time with 7.88 thanks to 7.5 for type, 8.0 in walk, 7.8 in trot and 8.2 in canter.

Four-year-old dressage horses

Ellyseé by Ellis-Diamond Hit dominated the field of four-year-olds with dressage pedigree. The mare was bred by ZG Pape. The exhibitor was Marcel Wolf. She impressed in type with 8.4, in walk with 9.0, in trot with 8.6 and in canter with 8.3, resulting in a final score of 8.58.

Karl-Heinz Hummel’s Bon Courage-Robespierre daughter Banu Sana’a also showed a step for a 9 and also impressed with an 8.5 in both trot and canter. Together with 7.7 for type and quality of conformation, this resulted in a final score of 8.43.

The strongest type lady in the lot was the third-placed (8.3) Va-Pina by Va’ Pensiero-Heraldik xx, bred and owned by Klaus Metzler. She received an 8.8 in this area, with a 7.8 for walk, 8.0 for trot and 8.6 for canter.

Double-talented ponies

In the pony category, three and four-year-old youngsters were judged together, divided into a section for all-round talents and one with a focus on dressage. The three-year-old Sietlands Frieda by Greylight-Quaterback stood out among the five all-rounders with a score of 8.2. Annette Slonka is the breeder here. The Hüttig family exhibited Sietlands Frieda. The mare received the highest scores in the division in all five criteria: 7.5 for walk, 8.5 for trot, 8.2 for canter, 8.3 for jumping technique and 8.5 for scope.

Second and third place went to two four-year-old daughters of DSP Cosmo Royale. Second best was Coco (dam by Immenmoor Golden Future), bred by ZG von Aspern and owned by Felix Mayerföls (walk 7.2, trot 8.4, canter 80, technique 8.2, ability 8.2). Third place went to Clara G (dam by Dimension AT NRW) bred by Anja Geiers and exhibited by Thomas and Bärbel Brugger (walk 7.3, trot and canter 8.0, technique and scope 7.5).

Dressage ponies

The dressage pony competition was a close decision. In the end, Dreamy H. by Weidners Dream Date-Hopkins came out on top of the field with a score of 8.4. The “H” stands for ZG Hermann, the breeder and exhibitor. He scored 8.6 for type, 7.5 for walk, 9.0 for trot and 8.5 for canter.

A close second with 8.38 was the four-year-old Druschkiwka by Cayuga San WE-Dundee Gold, bred and owned by Sabine Schoch. She shone with an 8.8 for type and quality of conformation, 8.5 in walk, 8.0 in trot and 8.3 in canter.

The top trio was completed by the three-year-old Daisy by Dublin-Timberland, bred by Hannah Bott and owned by Ilka Zimmerer. Her 8.15 was made up of 8.0 for type, 8.1 in walk, 8.3 in trot and 8.2 in canter.
