Victorious on Friday, at the front yesterday and again today in the World Cup stage in Sharjah - the United Arab Emirates are a rewarding place for the Vogel & Will Equestrian team, especially for Sophie Hinners.

After a victory on Friday and several placings, Sophie Hinners secured second place in the main event of the weekend, the 1.55 meter World Cup leg of the Arabian League. She had saddled up one of her top horses, the ten-year-old Kannan-daughter Kaleni Jo, and the mare did not disappoint. With two clear rounds, she jumped to second place in 51.62 seconds.

Only the Egyptian Abdel Said, competing for Belgium, and the eleven-year-old Quaker Brimbelles, a Quick Star grandson by Quicksilver St. Simeon, who is registered with the Zangersheide studbook like Kaleni Jo, were faster. They crossed the finish line after 50.18 seconds.

Third place was secured by René Tebbel under the Ukrainian flag, who showed with the eleven-year-old Belgian Paulus-L that he has not forgotten anything in the big sport despite not competing for almost a year.

Further results from Sharjah

David Will and Xixo Borgia, who came second yesterday, had a knockdown in the first round today and therefore did not make it into the placings. Instead, David Will had previously secured third place in the 1.50 meter two-phase jumping competition in the saddle of the eight-year-old Balou du Rouet daughter Big Blue. The winner here was Trevor Breen on Konrad Obolensky ahead of his Irish compatriot Michael Pender with HHS Orchidee.

Sophie Hinners was also placed tenth with her winner from Friday, the Cardento-daughter Come Away Flamingo Z. The pair had one down in phase two.
