Every year, the Hannoveraner Verband awards the young dressage and show jumping stallions who have passed the best performance tests with Weltmeyer and Stakkato prizes. Seven awards were presented this year.

Weltmeyer Prizes 2026

One of the five 2026 Weltmeyer prize winners is the €2 million top prize winner at the Hanoverian stallion market, Daan G. The chestnut by Donkey Boss-Don Olymbrio L out of the Jadeluft line, bred by successful breeder Helene Geervliet in Denmark, returned to his home country. Helgstrand Dressage was awarded the contract. Daan G. returned to Verden in the summer of 2025 and won the silver medal at the Hanoverian Championships for three-year-old stallions. In November, the chestnut won the 35-day test in Denmark with 912 points.

The winner of the Hanoverian Championships at the time was DC-10 , a Dynamic Dream son bred by ZG Rütten-Janßen in Mönchengladbach, whose dam is a full sister to the former Bundeschampionat fourth place winner Escona by Escolar-Sir Donnerhall, who is now successful in the USA under Benjamin Ebeling. Joop van Uytert had acquired DC-10 as a foal after he had been crowned champion foal at the show in Wickrath. It was the first, but not the last sash for the bay, who is now co-owned by Helgstrand Dressage and trotted past the two-million-euro stallion to victory in Verden. He was licensed by the Hanoverian Verband and finished his stallion performance test in Denmark as second best with 885.50 points. DC-10 also competed at the Bundeschampionat, but was too excited to show his quality.

Speaking of the Bundeschampionat – World Meyer Prize winner number three, Lindenberg by Libertad-Destano (breeder: ZG Maak, Hamburg, rider: Tobias Schult, Hünxe), shone in 2024 when he won with Jacob Schenk in the saddle. The black stallion from the Simse dam line had previously completed his sport test with a 9.07.

Performance and sport tests in Münster-Handorf were the occasions when Sir Gribaldi by Secret-All Inclusive (breeder: ZG Aronis/Janßen, Oederquart) was able to impress. Three times in a row, the now six-year-old from the Sprehe station achieved the best score of all the test candidates, first in the performance test (8.59), then in the two sport tests, which he completed with 8.84 and 9.01. As a five-year-old, Sir Gribaldi competed with Beatrice Arturi at the Bundeschampionat, but did not make it to the final.

Weltmeyer Prize number five went to the Rhineland stallion Venturo, a son of the S***-winning dressage horse World Championship finalist Valdiviani under Isabell Werth’s rider Niklaas Feilzer, with a very special dam. This is none other than the Belissimo M daughter Bohemian Rhapsodie by Belissimo M-De Niro, who placed fourth in the 2018 Nuremberg Burg Pokal Final. The now six-year-old result of this special pairing was named a premium stallion in Verden in 2022 and subsequently became the joint property of the Hoffrogge Stallion Station and the Celle State Stud. Venturo completed his sport test as a four-year-old with a 9.19. Last year, he competed in his first competitions and won two novice (A) and two elementary (L) level dressage tests for young horses.

The two jumping talents who were awarded the Stakkato Prize were both able to impress at the 50-day test in Adelheidsdorf. The first was Acorezzo by Arezzo VDL-Cornado, who has just turned four and was bred by Antonius Schulze-Averdiek, who achieved a final score of 8.41. The gray stallion from a successful dam line – the granddam produced 15 offspring, including five licensed stallions, including the internationally jumping Fire and Ice J by For Contest. He was a premium stallion at his licensing and was subsequently sold to David Will and Richard Vogel.

For Treasure VDL-Crumble is the pedigree of the second Stakkato prizewinner, Firecracker K. The K stands for breeder Martin Klintworth from Ohrensen. His final score in Adelheidsdorf: 8.48. The granddam, St.Pr.St. Cintia, was herself successful on the show jumping course and produced the winner with her son Crumble Cheesecake FRH by Crumble. Crumble, the winner of the 2022 Hanoverian Show Jumping Masters under Ole Klintworth. In 2024, it was Crumble Cheesecake’s maternal half-sister Cherry Fly K FRH by Chacfly PS. Chacfly PS, who won the Hanoverian Jumper Masters.
