Carina Scholz new rider of the NRW state stud stallion Fortunio
An NRW state stud stallion for Carina Scholz

Bred in the Netherlands, Fortunio by For Romance II-Zack-Don Schufro-Weinberg began his career as a premium stallion at the NRW main licensing in 2022, where Dr. Felix Austermann discovered him and brought him to Warendorf.
After his short disposition test, which Fortunio completed with an 8.01, the four-year-old stallion went to a show with Jan Steiner in the saddle, a novice class dressage test for young horses, in which he took fourth place.
Henrike Böhnke (née Sommer), who is responsible for training the NRW State Stud’s dressage stallions, presented him in novice and elementary level dressage tests for young horses last year, winning once and placing several times. Bundeschampionat etc. are out of the question for the stallion because he is a KWPN.
New chapter with Carina Scholz
Now Carina Scholz is to take over the further training of the smart dark bay. He has been at her stables in Warendorf for six weeks now. She says: “The stallion inspires me every day anew. He has an incredible attitude to work, he wants to do everything right every day and gives me a great feeling.”
Carina Scholz has made a name for herself as a rider of young horses, for example presenting the Escamillo daughter La Jolie SW at the World Championships for Young Dressage Horses in Verden in 2025, where she won the small final.
With Tarantino, she was a member of the German perspective squad for the first time. She is now listed there with Soirée d’Amour, who was trained up to Grand Prix level by Kira Wulferding and with whom she finished eleventh in the World Cup Final in Basel in 2025.
