Following the accident at the World Championships for Young Show Jumpers, Patrick Stühlmeyer's stallion Jagger Minotais was euthanized

The first round of the final for seven-year-old show jumpers at the World Championships for Young Show Jumpers in Lanaken at the Zangersheide Stud had to be interrupted after a serious accident involving Patrick Stühlmeyer’s stallion, Jagger Minotais. The stallion was immediately taken to the veterinary clinic. This morning, a message arrived from the Schockemöhle Stables, which owned the Selle Français stallion:

“The seven-year-old stallion Jagger Minotais had to be euthanized. He had suffered a serious injury at the World Championships for Young Show Jumping Horses last Sunday. Despite immediate medical care at a specialized clinic and extensive consultation with several veterinary specialists, the severity of the comminuted fracture left no hope of recovery. The co-ownership group therefore felt compelled to say goodbye to this special stallion.”

The stallion’s death is a tremendous loss in every respect. The Selle Français stallion by Cornet Obolensky-Zandor Z, from the Lemoine and Tshibangu breeding program, represented a highly successful French bloodline with a seemingly endless list of internationally successful show jumpers and licensed stallions, such as Quickly de Kreisker, Jumpy de Kreisker, Dexter de Kerglenn, etc.
