The Local Champions League Meets the Global Champions League in Riesenbeck
“Local Champions League” – what a great idea from Riesenbeck International!

Photo: sportfotos-lafrentz.de On July 17, 2026, the Local Champions League—essentially the “little sister” of the Global Champions League—will be decided at the Riesenbecker Sandstadion, while the Global Champions League’s tenth stage will be held on the same weekend in 2026 on the large grass field.
The format for the Local Champions League is the same as for the Global Champions League: Teams of two ride the course together and complete it one after the other. The team with the fewest faults in the fastest time wins. The only difference is that here, the jumps are 1.15 meters high, not 1.60 meters.
Just like with their big sister, the teams have their own names and should bring a team song. (I seem to recall something about Van Halen—the older folks among you might remember.)
Application Process
Who gets to compete alongside the sport’s biggest stars in Riesenbeck in July will be decided in two steps based on application videos (as Reels in 9:16 format). The only requirement for the clips: The team should introduce itself with its team name and theme song. Other than that, there are no limits to creativity, the Riesenbeck organizers emphasize.
A jury will then shortlist the submitted clips. These will be posted on Instagram, and the contestants’ fate will be in the hands of the community—votes can be cast for one week. The three teams with the most votes will compete in the Local Champions League in Riesenbeck.
Applications will be accepted until June 21 via email at office@riesenbeck-international.com.
