Hannes Ahlmann wins 1.50 jumping competition in Bedizzole

A total of 57 pairs competed today in the 1.50 meter time jumping competition at the CSI3* in Bedizzole, which was also a qualifier for the Grand Prix. Hannes Ahlmann had saddled up his best horse at the moment, the eleven-year-old Holstein mare Tokyo by Toulon. He has already won several show jumping competitions in this category with her and has already achieved World Cup placings. Tokyo also showed what she is made of today.

The pair were in the front third of the starting field and set a benchmark with their penalty-free time of 68.63 seconds, which the competition bared their teeth at. The Swiss rider Anthony Bourquard came closest on Festival Semilly in 68.86 seconds, coming second. Shortly before the end, Czech rider Bronislav Chudyba on Alita wanted to give it another go and came close to the leaders with a time of 70.19 seconds. But it was not enough, third place for the pair.

Only Jörne Sprehe and the stallion Toys were faster than Ahlmann and Tokyo with a time of 68.54 seconds. However, they paid for their courage to take risks with a knockdown. Nevertheless, they were still in the rankings in 14th place.
