Opening victory for Richard Vogel in 's-Hertogenbosch

It was another Vogel-style round – Richard Vogel secured victory in the opening jumping competition in ‘s-Hertogenbosch on the ten-year-old Holstein stallion Diamant de Casall with a lead of around one and a half seconds.

The runner-up was Piet Raijmakers Jr. on another Holstein stallion, For Freedom by For Fashion, followed by France’s Simon Delestre with Olga van de Kruishoeve.

Daniel Deußer also placed after a clear round with the eight-year-old Belgian Nixon van’t Meulenhof, who he presented at last year’s World Championships for Young Show Jumpers.

Diamant de Casall – Favorite in the stable

Diamant de Casall is a Diamant de Semilly son out of a full sister to Casall. Marie Ligges brought the stallion into international sport. Richard Vogel presented him in the Youngster Tour at the Tournament of Champions last year and has since only competed with him in Basel in January. There they won a jumping competition and were placed a second time.

The stallion therefore delivers what his pedigree promises. He is not only highly interesting in terms of breeding, but also athletic, Richard Vogel told visitors to the stallion show at Birkhof Stud. He himself was still in Florida and was connected via video.

However, Diamant de Casall was live on site. Vogel’s business partner David Will was allowed to borrow the stallion for the stallion show. Will is a regular guest at Birkhof Stud, but this year he preferred coming to Donzdorf even more, he revealed – because: “Richi doesn’t like giving him (Diamant de Casall) away.”

Visitors to the stallion show were able to see why “Richi doesn’t like giving it away”. Will: “It’s a shame that the stands aren’t a bit higher. It didn’t feel like real work for him yet, more like fun.”
