Scott Brash won not one, but two Grand Prix at the CSI3* and 5* tournaments in Doha.

Three important show jumping competitions, three British victories in Doha. Above all, Scott Brash and his horses presented themselves in top form in Al Shaqab. Hello Jefferson is now 17, as fit as ever, but now mature and mature enough to use his energy where it is needed: at the jump. This is how he won the Grand Prix in Spruce Meadows last year, among others, and was among the front runners twice in Geneva. Since then he has had a break. Yesterday he was back in business in Doha. And how.

Nine pairs were able to recommend themselves for the jump-off for the Grand Prix in Doha. Brash’s Cooper van de Heffinck son was one of five horses who managed a second clear round. The clock stopped at 42.66 seconds.

Only one pair from Germany was faster: Philipp Weishaupt and the eleven-year-old Kannan son Oreo D.R., who Weishaupt took over from a Jordanian rider in the fall of 2024 and who is growing more and more into the big sport. Oreo crossed the finish line after 41.55 seconds, but had one down. Sixth place in the end, but still an important step for the Belgian stallion.

The second-fastest clear round was delivered by France’s Megane Moissionnier and her 14-year-old Crooger Tame, a son of the Holstein stallion Conrad de Hus, who carried Gregory Wathelet to the silver medal at the European Championships in Aachen in 2015 (42.78). Third place was a huge success for Eve Jobs and the Cantoblanco son Canto Bruno (0/43.42).

Doha Grand Prix number two for Brash

Brash had saddled up his 13-year-old Lewitz OS mare Hello Chadora Lady for the Grand Prix of the three-star tour. The Chacco Blue daughter had carried him to victory in the Rolex Top Ten Final in Geneva a few weeks ago and did not miss a beat in Doha yesterday either.

Compared to Geneva, the 1.50 meter Grand Prix was probably a walk in the park for Chadora Lady. A total of 15 pairs qualified for the jump-off, ten of which finished with two clear rounds. Chadora Lady was not only one of them, she was also faster than all her competitors in the jump-off, including those with faults. With a time of 32.34 seconds, she took over a second off the competition.

The closest was Global Champions Tour Super Grand Prix winner Abdel Said from Egypt under the Belgian flag with his Holstein Cascadello son Wathnan Calvaro. The clock stopped for the pair in 33.49 seconds.

Three German placings

This jumping competition also went very well from a German perspective. Janne Friederike Meyer-Zimmermann presented the now eleven-year-old Holstein mare High Level by Livello, who she rides for Deborah Mayer’s Iron Dames team, just like Dubai du Cedre before her. The pair jumped to third place in the jump-off in 33.74 seconds.

Philipp Weishaupt was left behind with another hope for the future from Belgium, this time a Belgian sport horse (SBS): the just nine-year-old Emerald daughter Lady Concern du Rezidal. He has also had her under saddle since the fall of 2024, but in keeping with her age, he has almost only shown her in advanced classes. Yesterday she proved to her rider in a clear 33.78 seconds that she is now ready for bigger tasks.

The third ribbon for Germany went to Torben Köhlbrandt and Mastermind RL in sixth place (0/36.10).
