Symbolic photo of an empty horse box. Photo: sportfotos-lafrentz.de What is the status of the investigation following the incidents at the Preis der Besten competition in Munich? Is there already a suspicion or can suspicions be dispelled? These are some of the questions we have put to the Munich I public prosecutor’s office responsible for the case. Unfortunately, there is not yet much news to report.
According to the public prosecutor’s office, an investigation is being conducted against an unknown person. There is no suspicion “against a specific person”, according to the response from the press office. There are also no results yet from the blood samples taken from the ponies by the vet who was called in. The investigation is still ongoing.
Cameras and security service
In response to the incidents at the Munich-Riem facility, the Bavarian Riding and Driving Association has ensured that nothing like this can happen again. Thomas Schreder, Managing Director of the BRFV and Olympia Reitanlagen GmbH, has announced:
“To ensure that participants feel safe during our events, we reacted immediately and commissioned a security service experienced in equestrian events for the upcoming events and implemented the installation of video surveillance systems.”
BRFV President explained that a reward had been offered for the arrest of the perpetrators.
