Lasse Nölting, 21, a two-time finalist in Germany's U25 Jumping Cup 2025, is now benefiting from a sponsorship from Franz-Georg Ottmann.

At the age of 21, Lasse Nölting has already achieved a lot in show jumping. He has represented the German colors twice at European Championships, once as a Junior and once as a Young Rider. In 2024 and 2025, he was able to recommend himself for the final of Germany’s U25 Jumping Cup. This is the most important national series for young show jumpers under the age of 25 with competitions in Hagen, Mannheim and Balve and in 2026 as part of the German Championships in Riesenbeck. The final is normally held at the CHIO Aachen, this year as part of the supporting program of the WEG. Lasse has finished tenth here twice in a row.

Growing up in a horse family

Both Lasse’s mother Natascha Nölting and his father Henner Hoeschen are deeply rooted in the world of horses. They run their own facility near Hanover. Lasse’s enthusiasm for horses was initially limited. But his parents persuaded him to give it a try, and so he sat on the back of a pony for the first time “at the age of nine or ten”, as the FN puts it. Once infected with the horse virus, his career in the saddle progressed rapidly.

Lasse’s first major appearances in the children’s and junior camp were on the mare Carandache. He took part in Preis der Besten competitions with her, rode for Germany in Nations Cups etc. He followed this up with other horses. He won the Preis der Besten twice, in 2024 and 2025, competed at the 2021 European Junior Championships on Lazio and at the 2024 European Young Rider Championships on Javall Ryal K.

But Lasse has also been highly successful at CSI level. Last year, he came fifth in the Grand Prix of the Agravis Cup in Oldenburg over 1.55 meters. He was in the saddle on his current top horse Cornello de Revel ZD.

Riding as a profession

Lasse graduated from high school. But even though he only found his way to horses quite late in life, it was clear to him that they would also be his professional future. With his school-leaving certificate in his pocket, he trained at various international stables in Belgium and the Netherlands as well as with Holger Hetzel. He is currently completing his training as a horse farmer. In addition to his work at home, he is getting tips from Dorothee Schneider student Stella Charlott Roth.

Sponsorship Franz-Georg Ottmann

Lasse will now also receive tips from his new sponsor, Franz-Georg Ottmann. He is also a member of the board of the German Equestrian Sports Foundation. The Master of Science in Agricultural Sciences was born with horses, just like his godchild. His grandfather was already a highly successful cold-blooded horse breeder. His father switched to warmbloods and his grandson is continuing the breeding program – with great success. Philipp Weishaupt’s Olympic partner Zineday, who is now ridden by Eve Jobs, was bred by Franz-Georg Ottmann.

The dressage expertise at Ottmann’s Gut Dalmer breeding facility also comes from Ottmann’s wife, Hedda Ottmann-Droege. The business graduate, daughter of management consultant and horse breeder Walter P.J. Droege, is herself successful up to Grand Prix level, partly on horses she bred herself.

Accordingly, Lasse could also get one or two young horses from his sponsor’s breeding program under the saddle. He is definitely happy about the opportunity he has been given, as he emphasized to the FN: “I am super grateful to have Franz-Georg at my side as my sponsor. He always has an open ear for me and supports me in every way. His expertise in equestrian sport is really impressive – I can only learn from that.”
