After a forced break due to an injury to her hand, Dorothee Schneider is able to ride again - just in time for the green season.

A few weeks ago, the two-time Olympic team champion Dorothee Schneider reported at the press conference in the run-up to the German Show Jumping and Dressage Derby in Hamburg that she would be bringing the eleven-year-old Governor daughter Karlijn V with her for her first start in the Hanseatic city. It is now also clear that she will have enough time to prepare for the highlight on the Elbe from May 13 to 17, because when Schneider spoke about her plans, she was still out of action due to an injury to her hand. But today she posted pictures on her Facebook page of herself in the saddle of World Championship finalist Segantini on the outdoor arena at Famos Stud with the words:

“Yay! Back in the saddle

As much as I love working with my students and horses from the ground, I have of course missed riding a lot and am all the more pleased to be back in the saddle after my hand operation.”

For the first time in Hamburg

This will actually be Dorothee Schneider’s first start in Hamburg. This is also due to her move from Rhineland-Palatinate to Syke. After all, it would have been more logical to travel from St. Stephan Stud in Framersheim to Munich for the “Pferd International” event taking place at the same time, and not just because of the competition announcement. But now Hamburg is just around the corner from Famos Stud in Lower Saxony, so to speak, and Schneider says: “I’m really looking forward to finally being able to ride in Hamburg.”

And also to watching, not her dressage colleagues, but the show jumping derby on Sunday. “I’m not going to miss that! I’ve seen it on TV before, of course, but never live. I would love to experience that.”

Three-star tour with Karlijn

She herself is already through with her program. As already reported, the Dressage Derby will no longer be decided by changing horses, but by adding the results from the Grand Prix and Freestyle in the CDI5* tour. There will also be a CDI1* and CDI3* tour as well as the national Louisdor Prize qualifier and the German Pony Derby.

Dorothee will present the eleven-year-old KWPN mare Karlijn V in the CDI3* tour. She got the Totilas granddaughter by v. Governor when she was just four years old, presented her successfully in Intermédiaire II and short Grand Prix last year and in her first Grand Prix de Dressage competitions in Ankum at the beginning of the year, winning once with 73.433 percent and coming second once with 72 percent.
