Entries for Badminton 2026 online
Badminton 2026 with a starting pair from Germany
Arne Bergendahl and Luthien NRW - here in Luhmühlen - still have a score to settle with badminton. Photo: Sportfotos-lafrentz.de And that’s Arne Bergendahl and Luthien NRW. The man from Hamminkel and “Lucy” already competed at the Badminton Horse Trials last year and they are also listed in the entries this year.
Bergendahl and the home-bred La Calido-Templer xx daughter still have a score to settle in the world’s most difficult eventing competition. At their premiere in 2025, they were super until the first water complex. As with all the other obstacles, Lucy jumped courageously, but stumbled on the landing and didn’t manage to stay on her feet. What a shame! Things should be different this year for the always highly motivated gray mare, who is also the dam of Bergendahl’s second successful horse Bronco.
After the involuntary bath in Badminton, Lucy showed that she is capable of anything not only with 14th place in Luhmühlen, but above all with a super performance in Pau. With only a few time faults in addition to their dressage result, the pair finished 13th there.
British phalanx
As always, the who’s who of the British bush scene will be at the start in Badminton, led by defending champions Ros Canter and Lordships Graffalo. The two have the chance to make history. Never before in the history of the show has a horse won Badminton three times. Graffallo now has the chance, just a few weeks after his rider gave birth to her second child. But the pair are already back in full training.
European Champion Laura Collett has probably earmarked her superstar London for the WEG in Aachen. In Badminton, she wants to ride the Burghley tenth, Bling, with whom she had a runner-up in the cross at Badminton House last year.
Harry Meade has entered five horses: Annaghmore Valoner, who has twice finished fourth at Burghley but has never ridden Badminton, Cavalier Crystal, who was fourth here last year and then third at Burghley, the stallion Et Hop du Matz, who was third at Kentucky in 2025, among others. third in Kentucky in 2025, William Fox-Pitt’s Grafennacht, with whom Meade got his first taste of five-star racing in Kentucky and finished fourth straight away, and the 17-year-old Superstition, who only rode Badminton internationally in 2025 and was sixth here.
Even more celebrities
From New Zealand, Jonelle and Tim Price are among those planning for Badminton. Caroline Powell has entered two horses. Felix Vogg (SUI) wants to bring his Maryland winner Cartania to the start.
Boyd Martin, among others, is planning to come from the USA. He has named the 14-year-old Mighty Magic son Mike Master C. He is only known in Europe under Liz Halliday, with whom he was third in Kentucky 2023, among other things. However, Martin has been in the saddle since last year and Badminton would be the first five-star event for the pair.
The Luhmühlen winners Lara de Liederkerke-Meier and Hooney d’Arville, who escaped with a scare after their fall in Kronenberg last weekend, are also on the entry list. You can find the overview here.
