At the end of the CDI3* in Ornago, Italy, the Werndl siblings led the rounds of honor. There were also further German podium placings.

Benjamin Werndl also won the freestyle in Ornago by almost four percent. With Quick Decision, he came within a whisker of 78 percent with a score of 77.95 percent. The chestnut scored particularly well in the canter movements. The scores for choreography, harmony between rider and horse, level of difficulty and music were between 8.0 and 9.0 in the B grade.

Second place went to Spain’s Beatriz Ferrer-Salat with Elegance (74.075), a horse she had ridden at the Olympic Games in Tokyo. Third place went to Yara Reichert with Valverde and 73.96 percent.

Zieta is also a “repeat offender”

There was an all-German podium in Intermediaire I. Jessica von Bredow-Werndl had brought the DSP mare Zieta by Zalando to the start. After winning the Prix St. Georges, the pair also won the Intermédiaire I. There was only one mistake in one of the major obstacles of the task, the flying changes to two jumps. “I’m incredibly happy about how focused and motivated she was in the arena. Of course, there is still room for improvement, but that is exactly what makes our journey so exciting. I’m all the more pleased with what we’ve already achieved and look forward to continuing to grow together.”

Clara Newin and La Belle Noire by Dante Weltino came second (70.059). Third place went to the youngest horse in the starting field, About You II by AC-DC with Yara Reichert (67.912).
