It had been quiet for a while around My Vitality, a full brother of the stamp stallion Vitalis, who was purchased last year by Zen Elite Equestrian for the US-American Adrienne Lyle. But now the time had come: the nine-year-old chestnut had his first show appearance with his new rider. And it was a promising one.

76.17 percent was the result for the Dutch warmblood stallion My Vitality under the saddle of Adrienne Lyle in the Intermediaire II. That was enough for victory in the national competition.

Before moving overseas, the tall stallion by Vivaldi out of Tolivia by D-Day competed internationally under Cathrine Rasmussen (NOR) and took part in the World Championships for Young Dressage Horses as a six and seven-year-old.

“He has an exceptional character,” Lyle told the Chronicle of the Horse about her new sport partner. She was particularly impressed by his ability to learn and his composure in the arena, even though he was presenting piaffe, passage as well as single and double changes in the show ring for the first time in Wellington. “He wanted to do everything right and took it on very confidently.”

In the long term, Lyle sees My Vitality as a possible candidate for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, but emphasizes a cautious build-up. The pair could already make their Grand Prix debut during the current winter season in Florida.

In addition to My Vitality, Lyle has Lars van de Hoenderheide, who is back from injury, and the two young horses One Million and Don Machiavelli at his disposal with a view to LA 2028.
