Photo: sportfotos-lafrentz.de A few days ago, we reported that the eleven-year-old Rhenish Escolar son Escamillo is the most sought-after dressage sire in Germany. In Unna, he demonstrated why under his Spanish trainer Manuel Dominguez Bernal.
Escamillo went there for his first competition of the year and the first Grand Prix de Dressage of his life. He finished in second place straight away. He scored 72.30 percent. The highlights of the test included above all the exercises in which the stallion scored with his outstanding basic gaits – reinforcement, trot traversals, series changes, but also the passenger jumping.
The foot marks of the three judges, which are still awarded nationally, also give an impression. Beate Altenkirchen gave a 7.0 each for purity of gaits and impulsion, a 7.5 for seat and rider influence, and a 6.5 for permeability, while her colleagues Harry Lorenz (C) and Bodo Maiwurm (M) both scored 7.0. Lorenz gave a 7.5 in all other areas, Maiwurm an 8.0.
Victory for Louisdor finalist Forster
The two Louisdor Prize finalists Tobias Nabben and Forster were delighted with their victory with a personal best of 73.030 percent. They have known each other for a long time and have an eventful history together. Now the Hanoverian Finest son is showing more and more consistently what great talent lies dormant in him. In yesterday’s Grand Prix in Unna, he received eights from all three judges for his piaffe.
