Jessica von Bredow-Werndl is riding in Hungary this weekend and has her young horse Singleton with her, who competed in his first advanced (S) level test today.

In addition to a three-star and a World Cup Grand Prix tour, Mariakalnok in Hungary also offers international competitions for young horses. That is why Jessica von Bredow-Werndl brought the seven-year-old Singleton, stable name “Toni”, along with Grand Prix mare Kismet to Hungary. Today was the Secret son’s first start in the advanced class and the FEI preparatory tests for seven-year-olds.

This was successful. Despite a big mistake in the four-in-hand changes, he won the test hands down against two competitors. Among other things, he showed great balance in the pirouettes and was remarkably sure-footed and sublime in the collected walk. The judges awarded him an 8 for trot and canter, 7.4 for walk, 7.2 for scope and 7.8 for perspective. Together with the technical assessment of the lessons, he scored 75.097 percent.

Singleton from Warendorf to Aubenhausen

Until he came to Aubenhausen, the Hanoverian gelding Singleton was owned by his breeders, the Engelke family. Madelene Engelke presented him very successfully at shows. In their very first season, they qualified for the Bundeschampionat, at that time for four-year-old riding horses, but did not make it to the final. It was a different story the following year with the five-year-olds. The pair took second place in the qualifier and ultimately eleventh place in the final. Shortly afterwards, it was announced that the gelding was moving to the Werndls in Aubenhausen.

After competing at L level with Benjamin Werndl as a five-year-old, Jessica von Bredow-Werndl was already in the saddle on the black stallion in the 2025 season and won three out of three competitions with him. Today was not only his first appearance at advanced (S) level, but also his first show of the season.
