Isabell Werth was actually supposed to ride the DSP stallion Quantaz in Wellington in the World Cup stage there. But now there has been a change of plans.

Isabell Werth had already saddled Wendy for the World Cup stage in Amsterdam instead of Quantaz, who was originally scheduled to start. She justified this by saying that she and the mare needed to “get back into the flow” at competitions. In the meantime, Quantaz could prepare for his outing in Florida. He should have taken part in the World Cup stage there from February 18 to 22. But that will not happen, as Eurodressage reports. Quantaz was withdrawn because he has a “thick leg”, as Isabell Werth explained.

According to Eurodressage, Isabell Werth will instead be riding the Sezuan son Special Blend, with whom she won the bronze medal in the freestyle at the German Championships in Balve last season. The black stallion has since been sold, but the owner, Natalie Stickling-Morzinsky, trains with Isabell Werth.

The 16-year-old Quaterback son Quantaz last competed at the 2025 World Cup Final in Basel. He is therefore not yet qualified for Fort Worth. According to the regulations, all pairs wishing to compete at the World Cup Final must have achieved at least two scores of 68% or more in the freestyle of a World Cup qualifier within the twelve months prior to the entry deadline. In the Western European League, the qualifiers in Gothenburg, which overlaps with Wellington from February 18 to 22, and ‘s-Hertogenbosch (March 12 to 15) are still to come.
