Dorothee Schneider and the eleven-year-old KWPN mare Karlijn V could not have had a better debut in the Grand Prix than today at the Ankumer Dressurclub.

Dorothee Schneider and the eleven-year-old KWPN mare Karlijn are no longer a new couple. On the contrary. The Governor daughter came to Schneider’s stables as a four-year-old. She was born in the Netherlands. Schneider then discovered her and her long-time patrons and friends, Gabi Kippert and Eva-Maria Mann, invested in the hopeful.

In the early years, it was mainly Schneider’s stable riders who were in the saddle of the Totilas granddaughter. With rider Hannah Milena Rother, she was successful in dressage tests for young horses from class A to M and later up to and including Intermédiaire I. Thanks to Karlijn, Hannah Rother was able to complete her list of successes for the Golden Riding Badge.

Dorothee Schneider also presented her from time to time. The Olympic team champion was then permanently in the saddle when she moved on to Grand Prix. In 2025, the pair collected their first victories and placings in young horse Grand Prix competitions and Intermédiaire II.

Today was the Grand Prix premiere in Ankum. And it went very well. The pair won the Grand Prix with 73.433 percent. The scores from the three judges ranged from 72.30 percent (Heinz-Holger Lammers for M) to 74.40 percent from Harry Lorenz for C.

Second place for Netz with new addition

The pair in second place, former U25 European Champion Raphael Netz and the Sarotti Mocca-Sahne daughter Sola Diva, had considerably less time to get to know each other. As Eurodressage reported, Netz took over the eleven-year-old mare from Catherine Haddad. She trained her up to Grand Prix level for her Danish owners and presented her here in Germany last year, including in Stars von Morgen qualifiers. However, she had to return to the USA for health reasons. However, the mare stayed here and came to be ridden by Raphael Netz. Today was her show debut, which the pair successfully completed in second place with exactly 71 percent.
