The Holte Ride-Klub's indoor arena was bursting at the seams this weekend, so many spectators had come to see Denmark's currently most successful dressage rider: Cathrine Laudrup-Dufour. The European Championship silver medal winner used the show to give two young hopefuls some competition experience.

One of these was the nine-year-old Final S DWB, a Franklin son who was already one of Denmark’s most successful horses as a youngster with Mette Svare Ahlers. Daniel Bachmann Andersen later took him on. With the champion rider, Final S DWB grew into the advanced class before joining the stable of Cathrine Laudrup-Dufour, who is now developing him towards Grand Prix. They have reached a milestone, as they showed yesterday at the Holte Ride-Klub. They won the Intermédiaire II with a strong 76.296 percent. And they did so despite being penalized for riding out of line because the rider once navigated to the wrong point on the course.

Another of Franklin’s up-and-coming hopefuls ridden by Laudrup-Dufour is the just eight-year-old Franko Unik, a representative of the lineage of World Championship finalist Polka Hit Nexen. He was fourth in the final of the “Danish National Championships” in 2023. That was his last tournament. Now Cathrine Laudrup-Dufour presented him directly at advanced (S) level and was delighted to win straight away with 74.387 percent.
