Photo: Pferd International/Hubert Fischer Anyone who has ever wondered what actually happened to the 2021 Bundeschampionesse of four-year-old mares and geldings named Feine Bella NRW – the answer was given today in Munich.
Feine Bella has been ridden by Sabina Schrödter since 2024. As a four-year-old, the Westphalian Fürstenball daughter won the title in Warendorf with top marks, at that time still under Wiebke Hartmann-Stommel. She was then sold at auction to Helgstrand Dressage in Denmark, from where she qualified for the World Championships for Young Dressage Horses, where she finished seventh as a five-year-old.
In 2024, she competed in her first medium dressage tests with Sabina Schröder. In 2025, the pair were serial winners in regional medium and advanced level tests. In 2026, they remained unbeaten until Munich and still are. The mare went through an obedient, precise test without faults, scoring 72.878 percent.
It was not only remarkable how close the four pairs were at the top, but also how different the judges’ rankings were. For Feine Bella, they ranged from seventh place (70.244, Michaela Grupen at H) to first place (74.634, Christof Umbach at E).
The pursuers
If it had been up to Michaela Grupen and head judge Katrina Wüst at C, Katharina Hemmer would have won the test with her Escolar son Escanciador, who she trained herself from the pike. Emil” had already impressed in Hagen with a beautiful round in the Burg-Pokal and they were able to go one better in Munich: Second place with 72.317 percent, 75 percent from Katrina Wüst. This is a new personal best for the pair.
Close behind was Nicole Grosch with the nine-year-old Vitalis daughter Visser’s Hit Valeria VEC OLD (sic!). The pair came eighth in the final of the Bundeschampionat for seven-year-old dressage horses two years ago (after coming sixth in the five-year-old class and another final appearance as six-year-olds) and already took part in Burg Cup qualifiers last year. Today they received 72.293 percent, and there was also a judge who had them at the top: Nicole Nockemann at B.
Katrina Wüst had two pairs that she favored: Katharina Hemmer and Raphael Netz with the Glamourdale son Glamourdoc. The black horse had been trained up to medium (M) level by Charlott-Maria Schürmann. Raphael rode him in his first competitions as a seven-year-old and took fourth place at the Bundeschampionat for seven-year-olds. Glamourdoc is now an eight-year-old and presented himself today as the prototype of a well-trained, contented dressage horse, completely relaxed and with a very beautiful side view. The pair scored 72.244 percent.
