Blue Hors Veneziano Now Under Joan Fabienne Weske-Haas

As the winner of the 2018 Louisdor Prize Final, Blue Hors Veneziano—a son of Vivaldi—was once among the world’s best young Grand Prix horses. At that time, he was still being ridden by Daniel Bachmann Andersen for the Blue Hors Stud.

Blue Hors Veneziano was born at Ludwig Kathmann’s farm, where he was bred from a full sister to the Blue Hors foundation stallion Don Schufro. Veneziano began his competitive career in Denmark. When Daniel Bachmann Andersen left the Blue Hors stud in 2020, Blue Hors owner Agnete Kirk Thingaard initially rode the stallion herself. Later, Veneziano became a U25 training horse for Laura Kristine Thorup and Sophia Ludvigsen, who enjoyed numerous successes with him in this age class.

After disappearing from the scene entirely in 2024, he reappeared in 2025 with Carina Scholz. After placing fourth in the CDI5* Grand Prix in Hamburg with a score of just under 70 percent, Scholz reported that she and her husband had learned through an acquaintance that Veneziano was for sale. Fabian Scholz watched a video and bought the stallion without having tried him out. Carina Scholz had several international Grand Prix placings with him that season. This year, she competed him only once at the national level. On July 31, the chestnut officially changed hands again—or rather, to a new owner, who effectively gave herself a birthday present.

The new owner of Blue Hors Veneziano is 21-year-old Joan Fabienne Weske-Haas, an amateur trainer from Hesse with numerous successes up to Class S and a few S*** placings as well. She has competed in the German Youth Championships and previously presented ponies at the National Championships.

Her birthday is on July 25, and that’s how she began her Instagram post, in which she shared the news about her new addition:

Does anyone still remember when I said I wanted to buy another horse for my birthday? 🤭

Well… I actually hadn’t planned on doing that this time. But then someone came into my life whom I just couldn’t say no to.

She has already made her tournament debut with Veneziano. At the home tournament in Groß-Zimmern, she rode him in an S*-level dressage test using a curb bit and finished the test in eleventh place with a score of just over 65 percent—about three percent less than the winning pair.
