The prelude to the showcase of the best is correctly called the “Central German licensing of pony and special horse breeds”. The youngsters were judged by Antje Lembke, Breeding Director of the Brandenburg-Anhalt Horse Breeding Association, Christian Kubitz, Breeding Director and GF PZV Saxony-Thuringia, and Jörg Menge as breeder representative for pony and specialty breeds.
Golden future for riding ponies
The largest contingent among the various breeds were the German Riding Ponies. The red and gold sash went to the palomino stallion Assenmachers Golden Future by Hesselteichs Golden Dream-FS Numero Uno NRW. The breeder is Silke Assenmacher from Vettweiß, the stallion was exhibited by Stéphanie Haltner from Bettwiesen.
“A stallion – generously lined with a lot of masculinity, harmonious in body and good croup formation – who showed himself with three good basic gaits, a lot of leverage in trot and a lot of rhythm. Well balanced in trot and canter, he presented himself with good technique at the jump. The stallion showed excellent development and was brought out well,” said the licensing committee, explaining their decision.
Golden Glow JL trotted off the course as reserve winner. The “JL” stands for the breeder Janina Luetzeler from Friedeburg, who had bred her FS Mr. Right-Fidertanz mare to Golden Grey NRW. The exhibitor of the award-winning result of this mating was Gut Lehmweide.
Five more riding pony stallions were licensed. They are by Tackmanns Donut (breeder: Christoph Klindworth, sire: Wenke Kraus), D-Gold AT NRW (breeder and sire: Tahani Ibrahim, Schönwalde-Glien), Cadlanvalley Sir Ivanhoe (breeder and sire: Elisabeth Wrede, Schönefeld), Neverland WE (breeder: Simone Liebing, sire: Wenke Kraus). A. Elisabeth Wrede, Schönefeld), Neverland WE (breeder: Simone Liebing, rider: Wenke Kraus) and another son of Golden Grey NRW (breeder: Mandy Schymik, rider: Ines Nowak).
Gold Garant presents another champion stallion
The 2024 dressage pony Bundeschampion Gold Garant will produce his first licensing crop in 2025/26 and his third champion stallion in Neustadt/Dosse – in addition to two reserve winners and three premium stallions. The meaningful name of the latest champion: Descendi S in particular. The bay sire by Gold Garant is registered as a small German riding horse and thus competed in the specialty breeds. Christina Schmitz from Ihlienworth bred Yougster out of a Foundation-Dream of Heidelberg dam. He was exhibited by Liva Kalea Behr from Buchholz.
“A very linear stallion in the side view, very generously constructed and equipped with a very cadenced trot sequence. In canter he showed good balance and beautiful uphill movement,” praised the licensing committee.
