50 riding horse stallions will compete this weekend in the Graf-von-Lindenau-Halle for the showcase of the best, the DSP licensing of the Brandenburg-Anhalt Horse Breeding Association. A look at the sires' pedigrees reveals evergreens, trends and newcomers.

Dressage stallions

The catalog lists 18 youngsters bred for the dressage arena. A third of these are by Donnerhall, four by De Niro (twice Damaschino, once each Dancier Gold and DeLorean) and twice by Don Schufro (Diamond First).

Vivaldi, usually the dominant sire at most licensing venues, is this time “only” represented by three stallions, a grandson by Vivanero and two youngsters with sires by Va Bene and Van Dijk by Vitalis.

The state stud stallion Bloomingdale is sending two candidates into the race who represent the blood of Brentano II just as much as the only Bon Coeur son. Another Neustadt State Stud stallion who ultimately goes back to Bolero, albeit via Belissimo M, is Ben Benicio. He has one son.

The otherwise omnipresent Florestan is represented in Neustadt/Dosse with only one descendant, a son of For Romance. KWPN line founder Ferro is present via Zack and his grandson Zoomaton by Zoom as well as Franklin by Ampere. Ampere. Furthermore, the former NRW champion stallion Extra Gold by Escolar is sending a representative of his first foal crop and Morricone brings the genes of Gribaldi into play.

Jumping – French stallions dominate

As is so often the case, the various branches of the great French stallion Cor de la Bryère dominate the lot of jumper-bred stallions. Chacco Blue has three offspring, two by Chacco’s Son and one by Cha-Cha-H. Cellestial is represented twice, once directly and once by Cellman. There are also Conthargos with two sons, Casall with a grandson via Cape Calidus, Catoki with a grandson via Luigi d’Eclipse and a direct Eldorado van de Zeshoek son, i.e. Cor de la Bryère via Corrado and Clinton.

Baloubet du Rouet can be found four times in the sire’s pedigrees, three times alone via the nine-year-old French stallion Hagbar de Lozon aka Blue Diamond by Balou du Rouet-Diamant de Semilly, who is stationed with Volkmar and Heike Schadock, who are on site with his offspring in Neustadt/Dosse.

Speaking of Diamant de Semilly, he is the third dominant Frenchman in the lot with also four representatives, a Diarado son and three from the first crop of the former Holstein champion stallion Esmeraldo, who carries the Diamant blood via Emerald van’t Ruytershof.

The second great Holstein jumping sire with a C, Capitol, has a representative on team world champion Berlin (Caspar), who is by Casino Grande, and one on the Carthago son Cicero Z.

The Heartbreaker son Toulon sends a son and a grandson over Toys. The former jumping winner of the Neustadt licensing, Oganero P, who is now stationed with Beerbaum, has two irons in the fire. He himself is a son of Ogano Sitte and therefore a Darco grandson. The Dutch stallion Uriko is competing twice, once via United Way and once via the award-winning Uno I son Un Capitole, who is also in his first licensing year.

Last but not least, with a New Pleasure and a Vingino son, there are two stallions that go back to Furioso II, a representative of Nabab de Reve and one that descends from the Zinedream son Zinero and thus ultimately represents the Almé bloodline.

Conclusion: the Selle Français stallions and their descendants clearly dominate the jumping lot.
