Photo: westfalenpferde.de A few weeks ago, the Oldenburg black stallion Grey Tonic by Grey Flanell-Secret, bred by Gestüt Lewitz, impressed at the short performance test in Verden. There he achieved the best overall result of all test candidates with an 8.83. Grey Tonic was entered here by Pascal Kandziora, at whose station the Mecklenburg premium stallion made his debut. The Beckmann stallion station now reports that Grey Tonic will be available to breeders in Wettringen in the future.
Grey Tonic not only impresses with his phenotype. His half-brother Exact PS by Escanto PS, who is one year younger, was awarded a prize at this year’s Mecklenburg licensing. The granddam is the Dutch European Championship mare Zantana RS2 by Zonik, who has just placed at the World Cup in Mechelen. She is a half-sister to Total U.S., among others, and is also the dam of the licensed stallions Debutant PS and Fürst Zonik PS.
Grey Tonic is owned by the Duisburg stables 360° Sportpferde. Behind it is Judith Koeppel, who acquired the black stallion as a two-year-old shortly before his licensing at the Schockemöhle Youngster Auction. Koeppel not only gives Grey Tonic to Beckmann, but also Fenomenal, who is also in her possession. The Feliciano son was recently named premium stallion at the Hanoverian licensing in Verden. Both stallions are to be ridden next year by Sina Aringer, who also presented Grey Tonic at his short predisposition test. According to Koeppel, there are strategic reasons for the change of station.
NRW champion stallion 2024 at Beckmann
Grey Flanell is not the only new arrival at Beckmanns. The champion stallion of the 2024 NRW licensing will also be in stud there in the coming season. This is the dark chestnut Vuelta by Vitalis-Fürst Jazz. The Harms breeding community was delighted with the title for their youngster. He was previously owned by Reesink Horses in the Netherlands.
Among others, the Verden premium stallion Onatopp is making his sire debut at the Kandziora station this season. The chestnut owned by the Oatley family was one of several eye-catching sons of the KWPN stallion Opoque by All At Once, who also belongs to the Oatleys.
