19 stallions appeared at the 2026 Oldenburg Saddle Licensing in Vechta. Ten were licensed, three of which were awarded prizes. The winner comes from the Edoste family, just like his sire, who has also left the Oldenburg saddle licensing with the sash of the champion.

In the end, the licensing committee singled out three stallions in particular at the 2026 Oldenburg Saddle Licensing. The Best of Gold son Besandro, bred by Heinz Ahlers, won the race in this trio. The sire of the new winner was also used for a long time at his station. Best of Gold, successful in high-level dressage sport, comes from the Edoste line. He has this in common with his son, who has now been crowned Champion Stallion 2026. This branch of the family, which produced the sire Fürst Romancier, for example, is known for its “golden” names. The granddam of the new champion has given birth to several licensed sons.

The winner was a beautifully shaped horse that knew how to move with balance and light-footedness at the trot. External rider Janina Tietze from the Celle State Stud in Lower Saxony attested that he could be ridden “very finely”.

Reserve champion by Dynamic Dream

Davosino is the reserve winner. The Dynamic Dream son comes from a Fürstenball dam, which was clearly evident from the construction of his hindquarters. The dam was the second-best five-year-old horse in the Oldenburg State Championships. Third place went to the format Debutant PS son Dahlmann, whose dam is by San Amour.

19 stallions appeared to present themselves on the pavement, free-running and under the saddle of their own and the other rider. A total of ten stallions were approved for breeding. They were sired by Escanto PS, Feinsten, Global Player, So Perfect and Topgun. Two stallions were eliminated.

At the auction in Vechta, the champion and reserve champion stallions will be up for sale.

The viewers on Clipmyhorse could only guess that one of the candidates was obviously not having his most cooperative day today. Because when the stallion began to clearly withdraw from the driving aids of the test rider, the camera panned away and only showed how the second stallion, waiting for the test ride, was moved at a walk on the short side of the arena.

Interestingly, this not new practice of the internet streamer is in clear contrast to the arguments that the breeding department had always put forward in favor of the partnership with the media company. Dr. Klaus Miesner had repeatedly emphasized that this was the only way for breeders to really find out about the stallion at stallion tests. This is where the stallions show their true selves and are therefore easier to judge than at stallion presentations.
