Dr. Evelin Schlotmann has left the Oldenburg Breeding Commission
Resignation Due to “Differences”: 2026 Oldenburg Licensing Exam to Proceed Without Longtime Commission Member
Dr. Evelin Schlotmann (third from the left) has stepped down from the Oldenburg Breeding Commission.
Photo: OLD Art/oldenburger-pferde.com Dr. Evelin Schlotmann says this decision was not an easy one for her. After 20 years on the Oldenburg Breeding Commission, during which she helped shape the direction of horse breeding in Oldenburg, she has now decided of her own accord to step down from her volunteer position. The reason, she explained to EQUI PAGES upon inquiry, was “differences between the Commission and the Board.”
The board of the Oldenburg Association has just been reorganized. Marco Pundsack has succeeded Dr. Wolfgang Schulze-Schleppinghoff. Clemens von Merveldt is the new vice president, and Merle von Wedel has been newly appointed to the board.
Dr. Evelin Schlotmann is a breeder herself and worked as a stud farm assistant in Celle in the 1990s under the former State Stud Manager, Dr. Burchard Bade. Her work with the Oldenburg Association was on a volunteer basis. Her main job is running an energy consulting firm together with her husband.
Interim Succession and Succession
The Oldenburg licensing will take place in Vechta from November 23 to 25. The young stallions scheduled to appear there were already selected in early October (click here for information on the dressage stallions’ licensing group; click here for the show jumping stallions). Bernd Huslage had already stepped in for Dr. Evelin Schlotmann during the preliminary selection. As Carsten Rotermund, acting as a “special representative of the Executive Board” of the Oldenburg Association, announced, Huslage will also help decide the future of the young stallions as part of the licensing commission during the licensing event itself. The long-term successor to Dr. Evelin Schlotmann will be determined by election at the delegates’ meeting in December 2026.
