Spain bids to host the World Championships for Young Dressage Horses
Olé! Spain to host the World Championships for Young Dressage Horses from 2028 to 2030?

The Spanish breeding organization ANCCE, which acts as the umbrella organization for the Spanish horse breed Pura Raza Española (PRE), has submitted its official bid to the World Breeding Federation (WBFSH) and the World Equestrian Federation (FEI) to host the World Championships. The ANCCE has also worked closely with the Royal Spanish Equestrian Federation, the ANCCE announced on its website.
It would be a completely new venue for the World Championships. For the last 27 years, the World Championships for young dressage horses have been held in the Netherlands (Arnhem and Ermelo) and Germany (Verden).
Hosting the World Championships is intended to strengthen Spain’s position in the international dressage calendar. The ANCCE commented: “This bid is (…) part of a long-term international project that ANCCE has been developing for many years.” The project is in line with “the association’s firm commitment to the development and international visibility of dressage, with a special focus on young horses, as well as an active and continuous presence at the major international championships.”
The venue will be the Sunshine Tour Montenmedio, whose facilities are tried and tested for large equestrian events and should meet the requirements for hosting an event of this magnitude.
