However, his sporting career only really took off when Sophie Hinners got him under the saddle at the beginning of 2022. And conversely, Million Dollar was also a blessing for Sophie Hinners’ career.
In the one season they had together, they contributed to Germany’s second place at the EEF Nations’ Cup in Mannheim with two clear rounds and later won the stage in Bratislava and the semi-final in Budapest. But then the highs came to an abrupt end.
Clinic and forced break
Million Dollar had suffered a hernia and had to have an operation. One of his testicles was removed during the operation. At the time, he was still in Sophie Hinners’ stable. But after he had recovered from the operation in hospital, it was clear that his sporting career would have to take a back seat. Although it was said that the stallion could be trained again after three months, he initially went back to the association’s stallion stable in Elmshorn. Since then, nothing more has been heard of him in sport.
Comeback at the national tournament
This weekend, the now 14-year-old Million Dollar is now on the entry list for the state tournament in Elmshorn. Together with eight other stallions from the Holsteiner Verband stallion keeping, he will appear on the Herbert-Blöcker-Platz.
Among the four-year-olds, there is the former champion stallion Conchezz by Colestus and his boxing neighbor Cognac by Comme il faut. Defending champion United Pleasure by United Way and Kantato by Keaton will be among the five-year-olds.
Karlo de Kalvarie by Kassander van’t Roosakker will compete in his stallion performance test.
Among the six-year-old stallions, Deichkind by Don and Union City by United Way will be competing. The older stallions include Million Dollar and Charaktervoll HV by Comme il faut.
